JP Magazine Titan Review

I was flipping through my latest issue of JP (it's a Jeep magazine) and they often do reviews on tow vehicles. They had a short review of the Titan, so I scanned it:

Good article. Kinda confused though. Don't they say like in the first paragraph that there test model don't come with big tow? Then a few paragraphs latter talk about VDC and Trany Temp. gauge. What model did the have and what options where included or did i just miss read the article? This is the first article I have seen that gives the interior high marks. You did say that this was from a jeep magazine right. Surprized they did not do any off road testing with it. 8.8 MPG while towing! I dont ever remember reading any one on this board getting that low. I think 10mpg is about the lowest I have seen. I will be greatly disapointed if I end up with 8 mpg while towing. Not like 10 is any better, but still thoses 2 extra miles just might make it to the next gas station.

No, they said it came with big tow. The only thing wrong with this article is them complaining about the bed size. It's a CC, come on people, do you really expect a full length bed on a crew cab. At the same time they complain about the maneuverabilty, but want a longer bed, kinda oxymoronic I think. I personally think the Titan handles far better in parking lots than my old Chevy 1500.

It took me a few minutes but now I see what they are saying. I new I had to be reading it wrong. Some people would like to see a full size bed. I dont think you would be able to park it any where with out it sticking out or taking up two spaces. You can use the bed extender and get all most the same length as the full size bed anyways, so it would be kinda point less.

TimmyTitan,I bet the mountains caused a lot of the 8.8 mpg mileage.Since he was towing,he really couldn't let himself glide downhill to get back some of the energy he used pulling all that weight uphill.It will do better on flat roads.
Sammy Sandbag,I agree,the Titan is very maneuverable for a 224"truck;I don't notice much difference between it and my 217" long ,thinner Tundra Accesscab-except the Titan has a much lower step in so doesn't need tube steps,the Tundra sure did.

I agree with the need for better brakes as I just took a trip through the moutains and my wheels look like a coal miners hands. I am at 2000 miles, and I think i am getting the rumble in the steering wheel.


and I would like a better turning radius ( ala the quad steering on the chevy or sierra)--but darn I love the engine I woudl never buy anything else

Perhaps quad steering as an option, I know I wouldn't want it.
