Can someone check the roof of your truck for me?

From where the windshield ends to about 4-8 inches back it looks like my roof is worn, like an abrasive cloth was rubbed on the leading edge of my roof or tape or cloth rubbed it during shipping. It seems like there is no clear coat in that area. This is the second time I washed it but i dont remember noticing it before. Maybe the dealer had a good prep guy. It clears up a little when i put wax on it. I also noticed pits and what seems to be dust or dirt in the paint.

I have the hood protector and i was wondering if this was caused from the protector deflecting bugs over my truck but it doesnt quite clear the roof it.

Thanks

No such problem on mine. I don't have a hood protector but plan on getting one, unless others are having similar problems. I doubt that this would cause the problem you're describing though.

The leading edge of my roof looks fine, however I do not have a bug deflector installed. I would take it to the dealer to have it fixed before they blame you for the problem with the paint.

I have this problem. Had it before I put the bug shield on. Looks like something rough rubbed...kinda like a car wash dryer? Perhaps the dealer drove to quickly through a auto wash or something. Will need to have dealer look at next time I go in. Mean while I gave it a good coat of wax. Hide a lot of it.

Unless they were wearing sandpaper shoes, I doubt it.

No such problem on my roof. Just finished claybarring the whole thing... Whole bunch of junk came off with the bar! Zaino'ed it and she is looking purty!

Got the hockey game on in the background and heard the familiar Titan theme music... glad to see Nissan promoting the Titan during the finals!

I just bought my Galaxy Titan LE a week and half ago and I have the exact same condition on my rooftop. The truck was still in stock yard w/ all protective wraps when I bought it, nobody but the detailer drove it prior to me picking it up. I didn't notice the rub marks until I washed it this past weekend. I'm going back to the dealer this week and make them buff it out. Galaxy is beautiful but high maintenance, think I should have went w/ Silver.

Mine was ordered for me. Supposedly it came off the truck and cleaned and sold to me. I dont know what this is i also have little dust or dirt particles an the drivers door imbedded in the paint. They will come off but what am i doing to the paint by removing it.

Still love the truck though. I will be getting nissan extended warranty shortly.

Before you buy the Nissan extended warranty, check with your Insurance carrier. I bought some of the the same warranty coverages for thousands less! Not to plug them, heaven knows they make enough $ but I use Geico. I bought road-side assistance, glass breakage, tire/wheel damage and the extended warranty for approx. $400.00.

Well i feel better now. I have the same exact thing on my roof. I took to dealer twice and both times the detailer wasnt in. I believe its from the protective film glue. I tried goof off and some orange stuff but hasnt helped. Read somewhere 3m general adhesive remover is good to use, but i cant find it at any stores. Drives me nuts cause when i look out the window of the house down at the roof you can see it really bad, sometimes its hard to see from ground level. I cant imagine how they are gonna get it off, my dealer will probably tell me it normal operation just like everything else. Let me know if you get yours taken care of.

I have the paint imperfection also and no bug deflector. I noticed mine after the first time I washed it. Put some wax on it and enough of it went away that it does not bother me anymore.

Glad this was brought up.

I haven't washed the truck in a week or so, so there's a bit of pollen, etc. on the truck. After I drove it home one evening (it was raining lightly), I looked at the truck from a high window of my house and noticed a line about 1 foot back of the windshield. The line was a buildup of dirt/pollen.

I wonder if the aerodynamics of the truck, with the roof line sloping down past level to the top of the windshield, causes build up at that point, where the slipstream would rise above the roof. That may explain why the front 1 foot of the roof looks worn?? That's my W.A.G.

Maybe you should drive faster so it all blows over the roof.
