Spray-In Bed Liners

I am thinking of taking my drop-in liner out and having a spray-in applied. I found out yesterday that the Line-X is a hot spray, and the Rhino Lining is a cold spray. I was told the Line-X cures within 2-3 hours and the Rhino takes 24 hrs. The Line-X sales lady said the quicker cure time will prevent the lining from "running" down on the side applications (vertical sides of the bed).
Other than the cure times, does anybody have any advise, info, or recommendations to which one is better??

I know the factory utility system has Line-X, and a few have had some blistering occur, but I assume it was caused by Nissan not prepping the bed and/or trying to get them out as quickly as possible.

Rhino Lining has been around for a long time. I've never heard of 1 bad experience w/their product, regardless of the heat of their spray or the time it takes to cure. I've never known anyone that used Line-X, but Rhino Lining is a trusted brand that's been around for a long time. JMHO.

Trucks had a show on the Line-X bed liner and thay stated that it cured in seconds not hours. It is also supposed to be undestructable they did some tests such as dropping cinderblocks from around 13ft. Looked good and strong, but I don't know where their advertising money is coming froms.

i have a good friend who owns his own aftermarket add-on company and has been installing rhino linings for 5-10 yrs and he stated that nissan is going to stop using line-x and is going to rhino.
now he maybe blowin smoke but i do know for a fact that rhino lining is some of the best stuff out there and i wish i had it instead of the questionable line-x liner.

I had a Line-X in my last truck and it was very nice. I had not heard that Nissan's was a Line-X. Does not look or feel like a Line-X. I thought I read somewhere that Nissan contracted with PPG to make the liner.

I do know that the dealer (of course) charges WAY more to do the liner than after market. Dealer wanted 1k for the liner and I got it done at a local truck shop for 435.00 and it is a LOT thicker than they would have put on.

I have had the line-x sprayed in my titan a week after I bought it. When it is sprayed it is heated around 170 deg or thereabouts. It does cure within 2-3 minutes but it is reccommended to let it fully cure for 24 hours before putting any heavy loads in it to prevent dimpling. It is warrantied for life as long as you own your truck. I think appearance wise it retains the black color and doesnt fade more than rhino does. Also line-x sprays their liners in thicker than rhino. IMO it is the best spray in bedliner there is...if you want some pics I can post them later Oh and by the way...Nissan does not use line-x as their factory spray in but around here they contract with the line-x dealer to fix the factory bed liner problems

The liner is indeed made by PPG and not Line-X as many have been led to believe. This is directly from the Nissan reps. during my meeting with them last month.

Had Line-X liners installed in my two previous Frontiers. I was well pleased with the results over the year or so I had each vehicle. I did not notice any fading in that period of time. The application is definitely thicker that that of the Nissan spray-in. On the first Frontier I priced both Rhino and Line-X with Line-X being cheaper. On the second Frontier I only called Line-X.

I have had both the Rhino i had in my Tacoma and it discolored within the first year, I just bought my XE 4x4 and had the Line-X sprayed in and so far no problems, the truck has been back and forth to Glamis and Beaumont with the bike and the quad in the back 9 or 10 times and so far no problems no dings or discoloration

I had the body colored (sand dune) rhino liner in my 2001 frontier. I did not notice any running or driping but I was told not to close the truck bed for a couple days. I did have UV damage, the tops of the bed rails became very hard and brittle and when I contacted rhino they told me I had to take my problems to the installer which is in Tucson,AZ.....Im in Savannah, GA.

well i quoted myself b/c i guess im a dumbass and i dont know what im talking about. i was only going off of what ive heard and therefore just like anything on this forum, take it w/ a grain and/or brick of salt.

i still wish that i had a better liner. one that is thicker. oh well. sorry for the misinformation.

I had Line-X in my last Ram and it was top-notch. Survived slide-in
Camper, stones, sand and lots of ATV haulin' with no problems.
Friend of mine just had his new GMC done by Rhino and it's a POS.
Already knocked a couple chips out of it. Could have been a poor
application as a lemon can be found anywhere. The PPG on my
Titan is like sandpaper. I put a rubber bed mat on on it as I was
tired of sanding the paint off everything I put in the bed. Wish I
had the Line-X.
