Good News

Well, As I am starting to get grumpy about waiting for my brake pads to come in. They are in! Taking in this morning. I did ask to speak to the Service Director last week and he did what he had to do to get them. I am impressed.

Just talked to the service department in advance of my appointment Friday and they have all the parts needed to perform the TSB repairs sitting in the parts department with my name on them.

Looks like they are prepared.

Update

Well,
Here is the list of items on my fix lists that I handed to the dealership this morning and status.

1. Brake Judder (warped rotors) There is a TSB.

STATUS: repaired.

2. Radio Fade on AM/FM stations. Nissan is working on a replacement.

Status: It took some talking and me driving around with the mechanic but they have finally agreed that mine needs to be replaced. Ordered.

3. Ticking noise at idle (purge valve?)

Status: They still think it is the injectors. you have to turn off everything to hear it from inside the vehicle. So maybe I am mistaken on this one, but sleightofhand is going to get me the name of a mechanic at another dealership to listen to it. Just want a second opinion.

4. Hissing A/C (abnormal or normal), even when truck is off.

Status: said it was normal.

5. Front bumper - drivers side lower than passenger.

status: adjusted

6. Rear bumper - looks out of adjustment too.

Status: adjusted

7. check front differntial and transfer case. I checked my rear differntial and it
was low. I drained and refilled it.

Status: He said front differential was full and rear. I asked him if I need to
put sealant on the thread every time I change and he said no. He said there
is residue left on there, so maybe every third time - add sealant. He said don't glob the sealant on becasue it could get into the differential.

There was only one thing that I forgot to have them check. Not sure if this is normal, sometimes from takeoff with A/C on. I hear a ticking or rattle type noise. Can have them check this when they replace the radio unless I figure it out myself.

I will say I am very happy with their service today.

It’s good to here that they fixed or at least admitted to most all of your problems. I am buying my titan out of state and having it shipped to me, so I am going to have to find out which of the 3 dealers her in Hawaii I can trust working on it. All 3 where awful when it came to the sales department. Thanks for the update Joe. Keeps us informed if any thing else happens.

One of the threads on here said there was a prototype their testing and almost completed. I hope I get that one. I wonder if theres a way I can find out before I take it in when the radio arrives?

I bought my Titan from King Windward Nissan and the sales staff there was terrific! They gave me an excellent deal.I would go there again and buy from them. I never dealt with the service dept. as of yet. That's what I am worrying about.

1Titan I am glad that they helped you out, but I was looking for a specific truck and none of the dealers had it or seamed to interested in tracking one down for me. They just wanted to sell me one they had on the lot. New City Nissan did off to order one but said it would be at least 3 months before I would get it. I never went to the lot on King Windward, just talked to them over the phone so that might be why. I was not saying that all dealers in Hawaii are bad but they could not get me in the truck I wanted within a reasonable time for a good price so I had to go else where. When and if you do go for service keep me informed. I hope we don’t have some of the same problems others are having with the dealer’s service department.

Thanks Tim

Sounds Good

My dealer said the ticking sound was the piston in the brake master cylinder, I asked how is that possible when you are pressing on the brakes?

They wouldn't answer!

Not worth the breath to argue.

I'll try another dealer

I live in the Raleigh area. I am working with the dealer in Sanford. There is a dealer 2 miles from my house, but I have had no luck getting my truck there. I thought it was because I didn't purchase it there, but Sanford had exactly the truck I wanted. Color, feature etc and they gave me a good deal. I am not so sure if it is only that I did not purchase at local dealer, because stevemis did purchse there and I can't believe they just wouldn't replace the seat. geezs. My opionion of Sanford service was beginning to slip until I spoke to the service director and then they came through with parts. I do have the purge value possible problem, just want a second opionion. I might see if sleightofhand can listen to my truck, he knows how it sounds or see if I can request the guy that repaired sleightofhand truck to listen to mine. I am an old grouch, but I feel like once the new truck bugs are over, I will continue to smile.

Man, you going to love it. I had happy brakes on my 38 mile trip last night from the dealer.
