Hails storm in Denver

Well, the metro area got hit by a pretty good hail storm with some areas getting baseball sized hail. The news tonight did a live broadcast from Peak Nissan and the vehicles on the lot looked pretty bad. Didn't actually see any Titans in the footage but there were several Altimas and Maximas with their windows completely blown out. Made me sort of cringe thinking about the Titans that were sitting out in the open.

My Titan got hit last week (Oklahoma) $2100 worth of damage. I have to get a new hood and paintless dent removal on the roof. Wasn't even tagged yet!! Dee Mac

I would hate to see what even pea size hail would do to the tin foil exterior of the titan, I love this truck but damn I swear I'm getting dents in the truck from bugs that are blown by the wind. It doesn't even have to leave my driveway to get a new dent.

You must have some good size bugs up there...

13,800 miles on ours and most of it on freeway 86 miles each way to work. Not a ding or scratch so far....

Tin foil??

I was downtown yesterday and got hit with the hail - luckily, not the golf ball sized ones. I admit I was nervous at first and was looking around for a parking garage to hide out in - I've only had my 4x4LE for 2 weeks - but luckily nothing bad came out of it. I don't have a dent nor scratch in sight.

I got my truck from Peak Nissan - they are nice guys, too bad about what happened to them. I bet their insurance agent is happy right now.

Denver Hail

Mine got hit pretty hard last night by the hail. Around 35 dents, only about 5-6 are really bad, but still I am pissed. I don't know how the windshield didn't break. It was about 5 straight minutes of golf ball sized hail. I already have my claim in with insurance, not sure how long it will take to get it taken care of.

I am actually surprised the damage is not worse. There are some vehicles that have A LOT worse damage than my truck does. One of the sky-lights in our house busted out as well.

I got mine at Peak Nissan too, great people who will do about anything for you.

Well three weeks ago the day I took my ride home I was parked at work when hail size of quarters came down, I was so nervous thnking the hood and roof would be dented but after it was over I took a look and so far (knock on wood) there is no dent and sratch as I can see, but my friends xterra had the glass damage and also there was some small dings nothing major, I'd hate to see bglf ball or even baseball size hail I think I would cry seeing my truck being hit by mother nature lol

State Farm is claiming that both auto and home claims are going to top $50 million. That'll put a dent (pun intended) in their pocket book.

Sorry to hear about everyone's bad luck. Luckily, mine was parked in the garage in Parker. We didn't get slammed like SW Denver/Lakewood, just some pea-sized for a couple of minutes. Some of the footage on the news was incredible. It's a helpless feeling when you're caught in a big hail storm. All you can do is pray that the glass holds up and look for some kind of cover...which NEVER seems to be around!

Is it just me or is it ALWAYS south Denver that gets hit with hail like this? I have a friend who had an Altima dented up pretty bad near Washpark about 3 years ago. I live up north in Westminster and while we have gotten hail here and there it's never been that bad.

ixian,
I have a friend that worked at NCAR in Boulder for years. He said they looked at this years ago by looking at the patterns of wind coming off the divide and how it flowed down the mountains and foothills to Denver. Basically, most of bad weather gets channeled away from us. I live in Thornton. There is a "buffer zone" from 58th Ave to 84th Ave. Hopefully we're done though since my truck comes in next week.

Had my brand new 2001 Toyota Sequoia 3 weeks when hit by Hail!

Not sure when to purchase brand new Titan and go for the Trifecta!
