Rear Slider Window

Well with the current deals on the Titans and my current truck absolutely on its last legs, I am getting ready to buy. Looking at an XE King Cab 4x4.

I need a rear slider window, which is available only with the XE Preferred Pkg. Two problems with that, no local dealers have a white XE with the preferred pkg, and I don't need/want any of the other goodies that come with it.

I found an aftermarket rear slider:
Manual: http://www.crlaurence.com/ProductPag...n=#MoreDetails
Power: http://www.crlaurence.com/ProductPag...6.html?Origin=

These use a "Urethane Bond" mounting mechanism. Anyone have any idea how to and how hard/easy it is to remove the original and mount the new one? The last rear slider I installed was easy in that it just had a rubber seal.

Thanks, Rob.

Just go ahead and get the Preferred Package. Aftermarket stuff won't be covered under your warranty.

Yes, that would definitely be an option if I could find a truck with it (closest one is 165 miles away)

Use that as negotiation, print up a carsdirect sheet and tell him you want it at that price, then tell him you will drive there if he will do it. Then you get what you want.

The white XE's look sweet by the way. They make me second guess my choice of the black XE KC 4X4. Check out DTEK's truck- really nice looking. It is 2WD.

Just have the dealer get the truck for you. They do it all the time. Your dealer will trade one of his trucks for the one on the other dealers lot. I bought my last two vehicles that way.

Cheers,
...Colin

Appreciate the suggestions on getting the PE package, but been there done that on dealer trades and driving three hours to another dealer (all extremely negative experiences). Local dealer has a white XE without preferred pkg, just needs the rear window.

So anybody know how to change out a urethane bond window <g>?

The power slider looks interesting. Did you get a price yet?
