Can someone please help me? I am bringing my truck back for the 5th time tomorrow b/c of a wet floorboard. This only happens when it rains. Not the AC we already checked and adjusted. I pulled up the carpet to find a small puddle in the crevice under the plastic covering the carpet by the door. Dealer can not duplicate problem. Read my thread "Premier sold me a Lemon" to get all of the history. Or go to problems area and look at "water on floor board" thread. Any help will be great. Or should I just get a Lemon law atty.

I would also try take the hose and spray the roof on that side. Hose it right where those drain rails are on the roof. I would make sure the water is not getting under the windshield rubber seal. That is close to the passenger windshield pillar. Maybe its getting under there and rolling down the pillar and out on the floor. Not sure this is it, but just a suggestion to try. If you can get the pillar trim off, check for signs of water damage.

Well here is what your louisiana lemon law states. Since you have taken it in 4 times already, you situation is applicable:
Quote:
RS51:1944
§1944. Motor vehicle replacement or refund
A. If a nonconformity in a motor home has not been repaired within the time periods provided for in R.S. 32:1943(A)(2), or if after four or more attempts within the express warranty term or during a period of one year following the date of the original delivery to the consumer of a motor vehicle which is not a motor home, whichever is the earlier, the nonconformity has not been repaired or if the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of ninety or more calendar days during the warranty period, the manufacturer shall:
(1) Replace the motor vehicle with a comparable new motor vehicle, or, at its option,
(2) Accept return of the motor vehicle and refund the full purchase price plus any amounts paid by the consumer at the point of sale, and all collateral costs less a reasonable allowance for use to the consumer, or any holder of a perfected security interest in the motor vehicle, as their interest may appear, if the transaction was a sale.

I've got a similar problem with my '94 Beretta. There is a plastic trim piece at the base of the windshield that is normally sealed. Mine has started to warp and there is now a small gap between it and the windshield where water can run down. If my car sits in a heavy rain I'll get water on the passenger floor. Not much but enough to dampen the floor mat. Never been all that bad so I haven't bothered to fix it. You might try looking at the same area on your truck.
Go with the Lemon Law and just get a new Titan - you don't need a lawyer to file the paperwork either. You don't want to keep going back to the dealer because what they'll do is fix it with "brute force". What I mean is that they may fix it, but it could be temporary (caulk, glue, etc). So, you think it's all fixed, then a year down the line, or worse - when it's out of waranty, it pops up again. Strike while the iron is hot and get rid of that "lemon"
Good luck!

At this point I agree with NYTITANMAN, lemon law it.
As would I. No reason to go through this amount of frustration with a truck you have given them ample time to repair. And agree, its not best to 'argue' with them later after the guidelines for your state have run out. Example : California it is only within the first year and 18k miles.
go to my picture link and look at the pictures of the inside of the passenger door and mirror. I had the same problem and it turned out to be the seal at the bottom of the mirror. It was letting in water, running down the inside of the door, dripping off the speaker, and then dripping out between the door panel and the door onto the carpet. Let me know if this helps....
This makes all the sense in the world. I will run it by Nissan in the morning. That may explain why it doesn't get wet immediately during or after a rain, but rather a few hours after the storm has passed. Thanks a bunch. Hopefully this will do the trick. Does anyone think I should just keep letting Nissan try to find this out on their own until they give up or should I give them this info.?

What would it hurt to give them this information? You do want it fixed don't you? Expecting them to figure it out and complaining that they can't when you have a possible fix is immature.
I also think expecting to get any satisfaction under any state's lemon law for a leak as minor as this is expecting too much.
Tell them to look at this as a potential solution and see if it works. If it doesn't what might be your next step would be to replace the door itself.

rrumaner,
You are right, it may be immature. But since they are the experts and the fact that I have to bring this truck back for the 6th time in 5 weeks has driven me to play games with them. If they can't find the leak, but it keeps getting wet, who knows what else has water damage in the truck. How many times do you think you should bring your truck in for something that is defective. 2,3, maybe 4, well try 6 and you would be a little less willing to deal with these people civilly.

Are you serious? 5 times to the dealer for the same thing with no fix, and your suggesting removing a door etc. on new truck? This is what lemon laws are for, would you be so passive about your own truck? I wouldn't.

I guess what Roy is trying to ask you is: do you want your truck repaired or do you want out of it?
I wouldn't blame you if you wanted out with the experience you've had.
But I think you really want it repaired so you can quit the hassle and begin the enjoyment.
Incompetence is the norm more often than not. It is found everywhere, not just in car dealerships/service departments.
Vincent Bugliosi does a real number on this topic in his book "Outrage". It is a real eye opener because it is something that stares us right in the face but we don't want to believe it.
Any rate, I hope your problems all start to recede in your rearview mirror.
Good luck,

It may seem minor on the surface, but once it goes a while without the dealer changing his carpet and underpadding, it will start to stink once the mold sets in. It will be a long ongoing issue until he finally gets rid of the truck.
