I use a bucket of warm water and a chamois. It softens the bugs up and they come off easy for me.Just rub gently.

I just went to Colorado and back. In Colorado, I tried a "Car Wash" but it was more of a "Car Rinse". My nephew sympathized and gave me some Bug and Tar Remover wipes. I'll be trying them tomorrow when the truck's out of the sun. If you're interested, I'll post the results...

Sure, i'd be interested to hear the results. I have some Bug and Tar remover that comes in a small can, but it doesn't work all that great.

I may try the bucket of warm water and chamois as OnTitan suggested, that seems to make sense.

Number one get them off soon as possible

I have been using a very soft brush for the wheels with car wash soap.

I think I am going to order the clear film for the corners autside the chrome.

Before you go on a trip like that with alot of bugs, try spraying your hood or grill with a little Pledge (yeah, the furniture cleaner). It has something in it to make cleaning the bugs a breeze. They just wipe right off. I haven't used it on my Titan, but I've been using it for years on my motorcycle helmets and my motorcycles (street bikes). It works great.

just as enos says..pledge or rain-x or the like create a 'film' that doesn't let the bug gunk 'set' directly on the paint....a couple of good thick wax jobs on the front end and then an application of one of these will make it much easier...repeat every time you washt the truck until you get the bug guard.

To answer my own question now, Scratch Remover works to get bug 'stains' off.
I had several areas on the hood(right above the grill) that i scrubbed and scrubbed w/no success. Then i tried some Scratch Remover that i already had and it took them off instantly. Its pretty much like a wax, but i guess it acts as a cleaner too. You rub it on, let it dry to a haze, then wipe off just as you would if you were waxing. Its in a small yellow bottle, not sure of the brand, but it says 'Scratch Remover' in big letters on it. Cheers

Wax to help remove future kills. The tough ones will come off if you soak a towel in hot water and let it sit for 20 minutes or so.

Keeping a layer of wax on the front end makes it much easier to remove the bugs. For stubborn ones, you can make your own bug remover with a mixture of 1/3 rubbing alcohol to 2/3 water. Only downside is it removes the wax, but at least the bug stain is gone.

Like Greg said. Get them off as soon as possible. I went to the cocoa beach this weekend. In FL the bugs are nasty right now. I had a ton of them on my truck when I got back. I used a paper towel and warm water on them and had no problem getting them off. I did it as soon as I got home tho. My wife was like...."You're Crazy" lol

It was only the 2nd day with my new truck. I couldnt have bug guts draped all over it.

After my long trip this past week and normally after all buggy trips the pressure washer does a good job. I spray it first to get most of them off, then soak the front end with soap and water (in the shade on a cool day). Then I spray the wheels, tires, and head back to the front/mirrors and they normally come off. Those that don't usually come off very easy with the washing mit. A good wax job and especially rainx on the windsheild does a great job.

While away from home, I wanted to clean up the Titan so I went to a local touchless wash. It had a "triple pass bug remover". It actually seemed to work very well. I was impressed. Not sure what the soap used was.

Freakin' Bugs! I feel like using sandpaper sometimes. I use bug and tar remover on the paint also. Works good, and it has not hurt any paint yet.

Enos,

The old method used to be PAM. Just remembered, 2,700 miles too late!

Blue Corral makes a wax with "Fomblin" in it. I've found it to be incredibly effective. Of course, you have to get them all off first..but once clean get some of that (comes in a blue bottle) and it will seal up your paint nicely.
