What is causing this problem? Are the dealers not checking these things or are the diff's burning fluid.

-confused possible future Titan owner.

Yes, I have been whining about that fact for several weeks. I have been exchanging emails with http://www.mag-hytec.com/ about all of the fried Titan diff photos posted here in an effort to induce production of an aftermarket high capacity cover (w/ magnet & dip stick).

Not every year, but once in awhile. Independence Pass ends in Aspen, and they have a huge party & street dance on the 4th of July and shoot fireworks off of the ski hill. Alot of rich & celebs flock in and the Aspen airport is filled with private jets. The town is jammed packed full of people, so it is alot of fun.

I just changed mine with mobil 1 What came out was awful shiny and the drain plug had alot of gunk on it 2 quarts and about 6 ounces filled her up. That is a piece of mind on that end. Going on a 2400 mile trip in 2 weeks will change it after that I believe.

I drained and refilled my rear diff at 1,600 miles (have 2,291 miles now). Used Mobil 1 synthetic. Taking a 2,500 to 3,000 mile trip in about 2 weeks also. Will drain and refill the rear diff and motor oil afterward. Changed the front diff oil yesterday (Valvaline 80W-90) and the motor oil today (Castrol 10W-30).
