For those with tinted windows.........

I got my front two windows tinted to match the back on saturday and although it looks good I had a bit of trouble getting the inside seal of the window to come back up. I got it by sliding a credit card along the edge when the window was down, but it is kind of wavy now and does not contact the window in some spots. Should I care about this? Will it straighten out? Thanks for the help in advance.

I was told to wait a week before putting the windows down or I would experience what you have.

Had mine done Friday and was told 3 days. I didn't open until this morning and they are fine.

I liked the price - and I quote, " You know thats illegal don't you ... $50.00 and don't fill out any paperwork OK."

Sold!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The film is not wavy, the seal against the window is. I was told I only needed to wait 24 hours before opening as they use some new process now that leaves no bubbles and allows the water behind the film to dry in no time. It worked, I have no bubbles and the hazy appearance went away in only a few hours after they were tinted. My question is about the seal against the window on the inside.

BTW, there is no time correlation to this. Please look at yous as I bet that the seal is not sitting right on your either. The window does not roll down far enough for it to catch the top of window and be rolled back the way it should be.

Matthew-
My seals have the same problems. The tint installer mashed down the seals when he installed the film. It permenatly creased the seals and now it has that wavy look. In a couple of spots the creases are a bit sharp and have created fine scratches in the tint film. When I go in for my next oil change I am going to see if I can get have them order new seals under warranty.

doubt they will be replaced under warrenty but try the place that tinted your glass there is no reason for the seals to be creased-this is coming from someone with over 15 years experience tinting..see if the tinter will help in the cost of replacing the seals with a felt type from a quality glass shop. this will prevent the tint from being scratched in the future..

Staackman,
Are the factory seals ok to use if re-installed correctly, or do you recommend just going ahead and replacing them with a felt type at the time of tinting?
