Crash Test Results Released
Jun. 14, 2004
(KSL News) -- The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has released crash test results on four more current model cars.
It tested the vehicles for front end collissions at 40 miles an hour. The Ford Escape SUV earned the second-highest rating, "acceptable," meaning there is the possibility of a serious injury.
The mid-size Volvo S-40, the Nissan Titan pick-up truck and the BMW Five-Series luxury sedan all received the institute's highest safety rating, "good." The best pick designation means a driver wearing a seat belt could probably walk away from a similar crash with minor injuries.
