Garmin Streetpilot

Does anyone have the Garmin Streetpilot? I am thinking about getting this rather than having a Nissan dealer install the factory unit. If I got the Garmin I would be able to move the unit to my other car. Who wins in a Garmin vs Nissan navigation match up? What are the pros and cons of each?

Oops! I did a search to see if this had been hashed out already, I must have spelled Garmin wrong in the search box. My bad.

FYI: I bought the Garmin 2610 and attached it to a plywood base as was mentioned in the other thread. Very happy with it.

I've got the StreetPilot III mounted, but am considering the new Garmin 2620; however, it's real pricey at this time - at least for me. My only gripe is the screen should be larger.

I have a GPSIII+ which is several years old. Works well. I am expecting a Garmin GPSMAP 276c for father's day. With the Auto kit, I have found it for under $850. Good choice if you want to use it in Marine/Auto application.

I have a Garmin 196, which is primarily an aviation GPS (I'm a pilot), but it also has marine and land features. I'm very satisfied with it, even though I don't use it for driving much. That particular model would probably be a bit expensive just for driving purposes, but I lend my support to Garmin's products. Personally I'd go with a portable GPS over an oem model. You can pick it up and take it with you, I don't know how updates are done with the oem GPS, but the Garmin is a snap to update.
