Turn signal clicker

Any way to quiet that sucker down a little bit?

Quiet it down?? I must be hard of hearing Actually I really am on the lower sounds, I hardly notice the signal at all! There is a way though to quiet the signal down though, and its the only way I know how -- stand near running jet engines all day!

Sorry I don't have any useful information though.

Take care,
Jim

Wouldn't you think...

by now that they would put adjustable sounds on the car... I mean, the ability to adjust volume and sound. Also, make it mp3 accessible. This way, you can get clips of Arnold and have him talk like the terminator for your door chime and such.

"You man, you close door now before I break you!"

I just can't seem to get used to it and it's been 3 months. It sounds like it's coming right out of the dash in front of me. The good thing is, I'll never drive down the road for 10 miles with my blinker on!

Plus, I can't find anything else to complain about on my Titan

Try driving a '99+ GM S-10/Blazer/Jimmy, sounds like a midget is hammering the inside of the dash when you turn, and it comes from the far right side too. Every time I had a new passenger they'd start ****ing their head trying to figure out where it was coming from. The Titan is barely noticeable after coming from that.

I'm coming from a 95 F150 Super Cab. I could barely hear that one, but that's probably because the interior noise level was much higher than the Titan. Anyway, I'll get used to it! Maybe I'll tinker with it this weekend.

I may be completely off base here, but I thought the sound of turn signals came from a relay cycling on and off. If this is the case you could probably just switch out for another brand of relay. Not sure, but they may be in the fuse box.

Talking

The signal clicker is in fact a digital sound made from a small piezo type buzzer mounted inside the dash. And agreed... it takes some getting used to. The signal relay itself is mounted under the hood against the firewall, so that's certainly not where the sound is coming from. - I've heard they intentionally boosted the volume of the 'ticker' because Nissan recieved negative feedback from the Frontier, that it's clicker was just too quiet. To my knowledge there is no way to adjust the volume. - If however, you want to have some fun with it, there is a Janet Jackson song "Someday Is Tonight" on her Rhythm Nation CD that uses a musical instrument at EXACTLY the same pitch and tone as the Turn-signal clicker, and when the signal is clicking at the same time the song is playing - it's guaranteed to get a chuckle.
