Well, I picked up my TITAN yesterday afternoon. Smoke 4x2, XC, SE. I love it, and look forward to a lot of fun times with it! I'm already having an insane amount of fun, even though I'm keeping my driving conservative during break-in. The urge to stomp on that pedal is SO bad though...
Here's the funny thing...I recently sold my lowered Toyota mini truck to get the Titan. When I was driving the mini, I got nonstop hassle from just about everyone. Tuned imports would rev on me. Sport trucks would hit their bags and dump it at the red light. Cops would give me the eye and carefully analyze all the modifications I had.
Then there's my ex-girlfriend's 350Z. I drove that a lot, and of course...here comes an S4, Porsche, etc...same story. Vroom vroom, let's race. Heh. I'll stomp on the gas, why not.
NOW I have my Titan. Finally, something I can drive without worry. Yeah, I've discovered that parking spots are a pain and so is the mileage but so what! BUT the funny thing is...now I have Rams, F150's and Chevy's giving me some serious attention. One Ram even tried to race me on the way to work this morning, on a completely congested freeway. I just thought to myself, "WHY would someone rev on a freakin' truck?" Then I realized...Our beloved Titans are performance vehicles. Well beyond a work truck and a hauler for dirt bikes, but when this puppy is done with break-in...I'm going to let it BARK bigtime! I can't wait!
One Ram owner did approach me in the parking lot today after work...and I thought "Great, here we go..." I was totally expecting him to just go off on my truck. He actually gave me a thumbs up and said he loves his Ram but can't stop looking at the Titan.
I guess attention is good, when you can back it up!
you'll find it happening a bit, mainly because there are a lot of people who have no idea what the truck is, and what it has.
I was going to my local Home Depot Sunday morning, its about 2 miles down a fairly congested (usually) road, and a kid pulls up beside me at a light in a '01-'02 F150. Its built up a little, and he started staring at me and rocking the truck with the gas. The light turns, he jams the gas, as did I, and all he saw was the fat TITAN 5.6. He ended up in the same lot and came over to me and said he didn't even know Nissan made a truck that big, let alone quick.
It was really fun, not something I would normally do, but it was Sunday, no one was around, and I got to school the kid. I constantly see other model owners staring at these. Maybe they should come with slicks on the rear.

Oh man, I hear ya...
I don't have my Titan yet, but I get this all the time in my cars.
I think it will be funny when I get it from the F-150s, Rams, and Silverados.
Enjoy your Titan, and may your break-in miles go quickly...

On the way home the other day from work, I was stuck in 405 traffic...and a F150 pulled up next to me. The driver rolled down his window and gave me a cheerful "Piss on Nissan!!"
The lack of intelligence these days is unbelievable. LMAO!
I love Fords, Chevys, Dodge...as a matter of fact, I'm a designer for Hot Wheels. I love cars, I love trucks, no hate here. Other truckers can talk all they want, but compare the numbers before bashing the TITAN.
Dude, you are a Hotwheels designer?!! Wow. Did you dream about that when you were a kid? Besides wanting to be an astronaut, a Hot Wheels designer had to be a close 2nd. Sweet gig. I think you could start a separate thread on what your typical day consists of! My Titan just went over 700 miles and I live in a small town where the Big Three dominate. But I slapped on my #3 sticker as soon as I go it so that tends to ease the tension a bit. It really gets an insane amount of attention. A female Hess employee walked outside just to ask me what kind of truck it was. I wanted to ask her to jump in, but my son's car seat in the back and my "lovely" wife at home were a major obstacle in my wishful thinking. Enjoy the truck bro!

"How big is this window? And what should be avoiding during this period?"
The manual says you should keep it under 4K RPMS for the first 1200 miles, and I was told to vary the speed on the highway. I understand what "cardesigner" is saying. I'm at 350 miles and laying off the throttle is really hard.

Cardesigner, time to design a Titan hotwheel! I'll take a black cc le wth big tow.. no 4x4 package please. If you need me to beta test one, I'd be happy to! LOL!

Of course, all projects and designs that go on in the studio are top secret until released to the public...but don't worry! I can't say anything- other than that we've got a whole lot of surprises coming!

Haha...Yes, I am a car designer for Hot Wheels. It's definitely a fun career and getting paid to design and play with cars all day is almost a crime!
I've dreamed of becoming a car designer since I was in 3rd grade. I've always drawn cars and since I grew up watching monster trucks in the 80's, I've had a serious interest in trucks since then. I went to ArtCenter, which is known for putting out some of the best car designers around. I orginally wanted to design for a car company, but my love for cars, toys, motorsports, car trends and lifestyle made Hot Wheels a natural environment.
Who wants to see some TITAN art? Maybe I'll whip out a few sketches...
