35" Nitto Mud Grappler fit with mini lift???

Just ordered my Nitto MGs 35/12.5/r18 to fit on my stock 18x8 wheel, ive heard mixed results in different forums all over and was wondering if this will fit my 2007 2wd. I installed the PRG 2.5" front, 1.5" rear mini lift.

They can but you'll need to do the pinchweld mod and they will still rub under some heavy articulations, so your Offroad capabilities will be limited... 33/12.5-18 are a Perfect fit under a MiniLift...

Was definitely planning to do a PWM after they were installed to minimize the amount of cuts at the pinch weld, but if it calls for it ill cut as much as i have to. I really want the 35" because the 33" looks smaller than what i hoped for in the look of the vehicle. Do you think i should make cuts before the tires get put on? i will be driving back home for about 30 miles from the shop to the house. An thank you for your help!

Go with the 33's your just gonna have problems with the 35's. My 35's rub on my 6" lift. So for sure there gonna rub on a mini lift.

I don't remember his username but there was a kid in Nebraska who a year or two ago did exactly what you're wanting to do... He was happy because he said that he never offroads... I don't understand why the hell anyone would want to lift a truck to fill inside the fenderwells with 12 miles per gallon - heavy arsed Offroad tires that they cannot even offroad with because they'll rub too much... I mean, do you really wanna be having to fill a full tank of gas every 250 miles just to have a poser street queen??

33's are not as small as you might think they are... They honestly DO fit a Mini-Lift perfectly.. But either way, you have your answer.

This is 33's w/ a PRG Mini-Lift:

Re: 35" Nitto Mud Grappler fit with mini lift???

Im absolutley eventually going to take it off road, when i have time of course :-) I dont want to waste the money on the tires if im going to be adding on the 4" spindle lift for 2wd from gregs website (PRG). But i also want to go for the mean aggressive look when im not on the trails. The gentleman from nebraska that did it the same said he only needed the PWM and he was golden with a 2" mini lift and i have a 2.5". The reason im getting the tires now and not when i put on the additional spindle lift is because my rear tires are almost bald and i dont want to waste the $$ on getting smaller tires now then spending another $1200 in a few months. Again i appreciate your help with this greatly. You did great work on your Armada btw, looks very nice, sir!!!

Oh, that's right, I forgot about you going for the 4" spindle later... The 2" was on a 4x4 and your 2.5" is on a 2wd... 2wd come 0.5" shorter than 4x4 from the factory so your end result is the same... Thanks for the compliment!!!

The Mud Grapplers have larger side lugs than most other tires, that will be your downfall.. If you get something else like Cooper Discoverer STT or Toyo Open Country M/T, they will fit in a bit better gut you will still need to get jiggy with a sawzall....

I sorta did what you're going but I stuck with 33's... In all honesty, I'm really glad I did but I will admit they are a little small under a 6" Lift, but they still work very well...

Here's 33's under a 6" Lift:

I like your stance, Pops. I will be sticking with a lighter weight 33" AT tire this time. I like the Hankook ATM but since my work cut my pay, it may be awhile before I can get rid of my 285/60/18 tires.

Re: 35" Nitto Mud Grappler fit with mini lift???

i dont mind "getting jiggy with my sawz-all" ha ha. The 6" on your rig looks great and the exact overall lift im goaling for in end. The 33s look a little small with that big of a lift unfortunately. I just dont want to spend the $ on the 33s then need to spend it again in a few months. But if you are highly recommending the 33" mud grapplers over the 35s then i will follow your advice. This is why i asked :-)

My personal opinion is suggesting that... Ya know, I just had a flashback... Alot of tire shops like Discount Tire usually offer a Test Drive to let you take it for a spin down the street then swap them out if they won't work... You might give that a try... I would also suggest looking at either Toyo M/T or Cooper STT in 35" for comparison's sake... Whatever you do, take your time and make sure it's what YOU want to do... I just know that there's only so much you can cut and 35" Mud Grapplers under a mini-lift can push it to the limit...

Re: 35" Nitto Mud Grappler fit with mini lift???

Just to put it out there. I have the Rough Country 6 inch lift with Nitto Trail Grapplers and I will have to be doing some cutting this weekend cause I am having rubbing issues at full steering lock

Re: 35" Nitto Mud Grappler fit with mini lift???

we will be able to fit it on the truck but i cannot return them after they hit pavement. ive looked at the toyo's and the coopers. they are nice tires and all and the quality is there but im looking for the aggressiveness of the Nitto's. i would really like the 35s but if its an impossible fit i guess i can deal with the 33s. These tires will dominate on the trails and will not give me any trouble even with the 2wd.

Full lock??? What's that??? My steering wheel hasn't seen full lock for a couple years now because Reverse works alot better.

In that case, find a way to to turn them where they are closest to the rear of the fenderwell and bounce on the truck to see if they rub when up in the fenderwell... Or just roll that one wheel up onto a floor jack and lift it with the steering wheel slightly turned enough...
