Off-road package tires

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum! I'm going to be getting an SE CC 4x4 very soon. I will be getting the off-road package but was wondering what brand tires they throw on...none of the dealers around here have models w/ the OR pkg on their lot and the sales guys couldn't tell me.

Amazing how little they know, actually. You can see all the details at:

www.nissanusa.com

Here is what they say about the OR package:

OFF-ROAD PACKAGE $550.00 - $1,000.00
- Rancho® Shocks
- Lower final gear ratio (3.36:1); similar to a four-speed automatic 4.10:1
- P285/70R17 B.F. Goodrich Rugged Trail OWL tires
- 17" x 7.5" Aluminum-alloy Wheels
- Skid plates ? oil pan (4X2), transfer case (4X4 ONLY), lower radiator(4x2 and 4x4)
- Fog lights (standard on 4X4 LE)
- Active Brake Limited-slip(standard on all 4X4 models)
- Tow hooks (standard on all 4X4 models)
This package requires Preferred Package on XE. This package requires either the Popular Package or Rockford Fosgate Package on SE. This package requires Big Tow Package on LE.

Interestingly, they don't mention the E-Locker, although I thought that it was now part of the OR package.

BFG Rugged Trail TA 17" 285 70R.

I believe the 4x4 non offroad has the 18" tire on the LE.

my mistake
the se too has 18's
it would make sense that the offroad would have smaller rims and more rubber

No fair pushing buttons. I went out in the rain stood on my head and read mine off the side of the tire

Has anyone tried to substitute the BFG All Terrain instead of the Rugged Trails? I haven't checked to see if there was a $$ difference between the two, but I would gladly pay the difference.

No, I think you have to use the Rugged Trail as it is a special tire only for the Titan that allows them to charge you like $11,643 per tire if you have to replace one.

you're probably right! I wonder if a tire shop will consider trading tires

Hmmm...

Mine came with bfg radial long-trails... I don't like them at all! I would rather have the cooper SST's. Now that is an offroad tire....

Yep, it's a special order and I had to replace one to the tune of about $250.

$180 from Tire Rack. Just give the tire manufacturers a little while and you'll start to see more brands. Or just go with some 12.5 x 33's...

You can just purchase the tires yourself, aftermarket. Austin, a member on this board, purchase OEM size BFG mud terrains I believe. I don't think he paid anywhere near $250/tire, but I might be wrong. I'm sure he'll post when he sees this, and if not, just pm him.

Thanks, TrojanDan! I wonder if Austin sold the stock tires himself or traded them (partial trade?) for the MT's? Austin, are you out there? BTW, Dan, are you a USC Trojans fan?
