Valet Key

The Valet key is supposed to not be able to unlock the glove box, bedside box, and the tailgate lock. However, my valet key can unlock the tailgate. The valet key for the other Titans on the dealer lot also unlock the tailgate. Is this true for everyone? I wonder if the owners manual is misprinted, or do we all have bad keys or a bad lock on the tailgate?

I can open the tailgate with the valet key, but it does not unlock it. When I close the tailgate again it is still locked. Only the ignition key unlocks it.

I think that if the tailgate is locked, the point of the valet key is so whoever you give that key to cannot get into the bed of the truck...sya if you have a bed cover...then it is basically a trunk. So the valet key shouldn't open it right?
