How do you guys fair against the hemi? I win ;)

Raced my friends hemi Ram the other day and i am more than impressed with my new truck.

Let me start by saying that we are very comparable trucks. Both Crew Cabs only he has the magnaflow exhaust (his was thier prototype 04 truck).

From the start we are about even, he pulls on me a tiny bit in 3rd. once we hit about 75 though i just walk past him.

Just wanted to brag for my first post

How fast did you hit in the race? I'm wondering how it pulls when it get's up there in the high double digets and triple if any one has hit it. I see C/D had a 19.5 second time to 100. Would like to know if it's true. Thanks

I dont know if the time is true but I've hit 110 in the titan so far and it rides great. The hemi tops out (regulator) at 107 so thats why i stopped.

What is our top speed governed at?

The race we did went to about 95 and i was ahead by about 3 trucks or more.

I think the titan tops out at 114MPH, acording to C/D. Does it pull pretty strong up to 110?

It pulls pretty strong, it doesnt put you back in your seat or anything but i didnt notice that i was going that fast until i looked down because the ride was so nice.

i personally never would want to go over 110 mph in a 5000+ pound truck, thats very dangerous. as for beating that hemi, thats interesting because the hemi's power is definately in the higher speeds. a hemi at 70-100 mph is pretty deadly, thats where their real power comes into play. im going to the track tomorrow to see what i can do against them, hopefully i'll have some good news for you guys.

Agree with Titan21. Upper band is where they have thier power vice lower where ours is.

Titan21, looking forward to a 'report' after tommorow.

Maybe having the extra gear helps us out at faster speeds. The Titan is always in the power band with plenty of gear.

BTY, me and my buddy were racing around the other day driving home on the wide open 210 (pasadena) freeway. He's got a Silverado with the 5.3 and I pull hard on him at high speeds (more than off the line when we raced) and his speed limiter kicks in at 97. Just to rub it in I kept pulling, I pulled to 110 and decided that was enough, still smooth and quiet as could be!

What extra gear would that be ??? The last time I looked at my window sticker of my Hemi It said 5 speed auto. My Cummings is a monster it pulls hard at 85-95 It will put you back in the seat. And then it cut's out at 120.

1#ton, aren't your 4th and 5th both overdrive gears? I believe only the Titan's 5th is a close ratio overdrive, not really even able to consider it overdrive because the ratio is much closer than is typical for OD.
