Electrical Problem?

I've had a few instances where I can't justify what happened, but believe there might be something going on with the electrical system.

A few weeks ago when I came home from work, the front windows in my Titan were almost all the way down. Both keyfobs were in the house while I was at work during the day????

My alarm has now gone off twice with no reason or explination, the latest being this morning when everyone was sleeping.

Anyone else have any issues like this??

Is it possible that the on-board computer operating system was made by Microsoft?

O.K. I looked at the service manual, section BL (some BCM stuff starts at page BL-72 and the alarm stuff at BL-93).

The dealer plugs their diagnostic Consult computer in, and I think it will retrieve a stored signal indicating what triggered the alarm (BL-112 "The switch which triggered vehicle security alarm is recorded"). Alot of the trouble shooting solutions in the BL-115 chart consist of "Replace BCM" which is the body control module. The BCM receives a signal from the key fob receiver (located behind the dash). So maybe the BCM is either (1) receiving sporadic "window down" and "alarm" signals from the key fob receiver (which are supposed to be authenticated according to the specific ID of your key fobs) or (2) the BCM is defective.

You don't have any kids playing with the key fobs do you?

One day after doing some shopping, when I returned to
the Parking lot and just as I hit the remote to unlock the
doors, I noticed that my front windows were down halfway.
Now my wife's RX-330 remote has a feature that will open
her windows but I didn't think my Titan had that option - it
doesn't. That was the first and only instance of an electronic
malfunction but it's one that causes me a lot of concern. Of
course if it can't be duplicated, the dealer can't diagnose it.

Your Titan, being an LE, does have the option. You can put down your windows by holding the unlock button, and after about 2 seconds the windows will start to go down. You can then let go when you get them to the point that you want. You can also turn the key in the door either direction to make them travel up or down.

Thank you Colin. Went and tried both features as you stated and
they work. Now I have something else to play with. One learns
some neat things on this forum.......

Tightin, I tried the remote keylock example that you posted. I have an SE and it worked. The only reason I tried it was when we got insurance on our Titan the paperwork came back listing it as a LE model. I asked the salesman about it and he told me that sometimes they put a SE on LE model trucks. Has anyone else had this appear on their insurance policy?
