Tire Pressure Sensor Question?

I need some help finding out what I need. I am looking at replacing my OEM wheels with aftermarket and not sure if the low tire pressure warning light and chime will stay on if you don't put sensors in the aftermarket wheels. So, all you guys that already replaced your wheels, could you PLEASE help me figure this out. I read on a different nissan forum that once all four sensor is gone the computer doesn't know. Is this true?

I believe the sensors are a part of the valve stem, you may be able to just move them to your new wheels. If not, check out TireRack.com, they are supposed to know a lot about tire pressure sensor systems.

I wanted to keep the OEM wheels for winter so I don't really want to mess with them if I don't have to.
