Waiting till next year

I realy wanted to pull the trigger on a new Titan but ... They seem to be having some quality control issues, which im sure will be straightened out ..I dont think the bigwigs at Nissan will let a few little bugs ruin their foray into the full size truck market.. Read in another thread theyve dispatched 200 enginneers to kick some butt at the new plant .. Plus Im starting a new business in the fall and would like the write off .. Maybe a 350Z in the meantime to curb the enthusiasm

Both of you guys get ready to pay a little more for it. I heard that they were going to be priced in the F-150 and Ram price ranges. I think for an SE probably around 29K to 32K. For LE 32K to 36K. I'm glad I only paid 24K for my SE.

Also going to wait

New to the froum, but test drove an XE Crew Cab this past Friday. Awesome truck. But when I asked the salesman about some of the problems he was pretty evasive. Makes me think they don't really want the truck to get a bad wrap while they work out the bugs. Perfectly understandable. This will be my next truck, only next year. I think pricing will stay about where it is. They are still going to need to sell some trucks to really get into the market.

I wouldn't count on Nissan raising prices on future Titans until they start exceeding their sales goals. Currently they are a little behind, hence the rebates you're seeing. Let's see if Nissan extends the $1000 rebate past July 6 and that should give you a better indication of future near term price trends.

1badz06, I think you are right. When I took that test drive I got the impression they really wanted to sell a truck. I was playing it really cool and just kept telling the salesman I would think about it. He shot right out with "what if I let you have it for invoice tonight?" Then claimed he was just kidding when again I said I would think about it. I think, armed with the info on this board and Nissan sales numbers, I could have done better than invoice.

I too am in for an '05. I would like a Red Brawn SE 4x4 with Big Tow pacjage and just about nothing else. I've never been a big fan of 1st model years and I need the extra time to pay off the S2000.

For me there is no question about the Titan, I've driven the F-150 and the Ram, they were okay where as the Titan was great, and Chevy does not even come across my radar screen, not since that '94 S10, the last time I bought a 1st year product...

I too agree, price may increas slightly, but I don't see a dramatic increase, Nissan needs to work on market share before they can expect to make the same profit margin as the big three.

Quad T, I couldn't agree with you more, only that I am going to get a LE CC deep water fully loaded. I have heard that in October/November the dealers will be taking orders for 05's? Do you think the dealers will know of any new options at that early time period? I would hate to order an 05 and then a few months later the dealers learned I could have orded a power sliding rear window...that would just make my day!

Dealers will know all the available options by the time you're able to order. Thats not to say that some 2005 options won't be late availability (a la the 2004 e-locker).

I have to say some of you are more optimistic than I regarding dealer/salespeople knowledge... Now I will be the first to admit the Honda S2000 is a limited production vehicle and that may play a huge role is the cluelessness demonstrated by the salespeople, but never the less, it has changed my mind regarding salespeople at car dealers.

I agree with JerseyDirt that some options may be late availability, but I'm not so sure the salespeople are going to know all about the '05 models come Oct/Nov.

For me I will wait till spring so I can drag my '95 XE-V6 4x4 KC Hardbody through one more salt encrusted winter.

GoCougsKev, Nice truck you plan to order! In all honesty I would even consider an XE if they only came with bucket seats and the floor shifter, but then again my Titan is not really my daily driver.

They are wanting to move them, I really want one. I have been by the dealer ship just looking several times and on these last 2 times with a friend he tried to get me to take one home for a night and ask what would it take to get me in one tongiht? I told him I was still looking...

the armada is really nice too, I never looked at one but I was impressed..

I agree that 1st year models do have bugs that need to be worked out. But what I like about the 1st year is that I have a Titan when not many other people do. It is cool to show people the truck when they have never seen one before. It makes the monthly payment a little easier to swallow.

Don't forget you'll have wait for the 04s to move off the lots AND the hype over new features to die down before dealers will negotiate on the 05s.

If you want an 05 for a good price with all the new features, it will be a while. Supply & Demand.

Any changes for factory ordering a truck in 05?

I was told at the dealership where I bought mine that the only new feature on the 05' Titan's will be the power sliding rear window.
