I offered 700 over invoice on a Titan yesterday, and they looked at me like I was a moron and declined. I simply thanked them and left......Maybe its something telling me to wait a while. I dont think my offer was unreasonable.
sounds o.k. to me. btw, some stealerships (like the one here in JC MO) think that they can get 1500 above invoice. i never wanted to laugh so hard at a salesmanager in my life when he came back w/ that deal. check out www.fightingchance.com . its a very cool system for getting a great deal, especially now w/ the rebates and dealer cash. there is no reason you shouldnt be able to get one for 1k to 1500 under. seriously.
Paid 200 over invoice, no DOC fees (The hidden BS charge they try and stick you with in order to make up for selling it at invoice), and got 3.9 financing. I think our out the door price for a 04 SE, 4wd, BT, OR, RF with captain chairs, and a few bells and whistles was 31K
I paid invoice with no fees or add ons. Just sales tax added.
I believe I could have paid less than invoice a couple weeks later.
It helps living in a large metro area where there are a lot of Nissan dealerships. There were some like your experience that would not budge, but there were a couple bidding against each other.
I paid invoice at the end of March, I'm currently advising my brother to look for 1,000 below invoice and am pretty sure he will get it (from the same dealer).
Where are you located?

I paid $1500 under invoice, plus the $1000 rebate, so I paid a total of $2500 under invoice.
For those of you that has paid under invoice, did you start the negotiations at that final cap cost or well below? FWIW, I'll be paying $350 over, not including $1000 rebate...net $$650 under.
In my case, I bought the ad truck (it was advertised in the paper at a low price to get people in), so I didn't have to negotiate at all. In retrospect, I should have figured out what dealer accessories I wanted and asked for those at cost. I'm sure they would have done that.
Get a free quote form Carsdirect.com It will come from a local dealer and they will give you a good price. I got mine for invoice minus the $1000 cash back. This was just yesterday.

Dealer here in Austin was giving $4000 off MSRP for any Titan on the lot over Memorial Day. They had 40 on the lot. No haggle. Financed 50% of it at 4.09%. Got it for $1220 under invoice before T/T/L. No rebates at that time.
Looked at getting one in the beginning of May, but the Internet "deal" was $2000 over invoice. I was so offended by their Internet offer, that I would not even respond back. Titan's have not caught on here in Central Texas yet. Not certain that they will. Have only seen 1 other on the street (white SE, I believe in Round Rock).
There is no reason to pay $1 over invoice, with or without financing. The truck is awesome, but they haven't come close to meeting their sales goals.
Also no trade. I kept all my cars. 50% cash, 50% financing at 4.09%
