problems with my Titan already

When I picked up my Titan it had 7 miles on it and the service engine light was on. Of course they tell me don't worry about it. We will fix it in the morning when the mechanic shop opens up. So, I drive the truck home. Next day I bring it back and they want to keep the truck overnight. I let them do that. Dealer calls today and tells me they need to keep it another night. The mechnaic wants to change an air temperature sensor. He thinks it may cause trouble down the road. I am letting them do it. So I have owned my Titan for 3 days it has been in the shop for two of those days. I LOVE this truck, but now I am worried that I may have some trouble with it. My A/C is also making a funny hissing noise that I read a thread about on here. has anyone got that fixed yet? The dealer is looking at that too.

Dude, why would you take delivery of a truck with the service engine light on!? Hopefully they will get it worked out for you. I'd be real tempted to tell them to get you a different truck...

Come on now. Don't be so hard on yourself. It will be fixed and you will be up and running in no time. You're smart enough to buy a Titan-enough said!

A failed MAF and/or IAT sensor is nothing to worry about. Not exactly common, but it's definitely not going to cause any problems down the road.

Law of averages... Make a million sensors, someone is bound to get a faulty one. Just happened to be you. Don't worry about it.

not too worried yet. Just sucks for now. Should get the truck back tomorrow, then all will be better. Well all but the A/C noise. I don't think they will be able to do anything about that.

No worrys mate. They will fix it and all will be well. Also, no one get freaked out over this as there are 1000 new purchase happy owners to 1 new purchase unhappy owner.

I started a thread to see if I can see how build dates compare to problems. I know you probably hardly sat in the truck yet, but when you get a chance can you post your build date and any other problems so I can document them.

Been there, done that in 1998 I was dropped off at the dealership to pick up my new Dodge Dakota R/T and after signing all the papers, cranked her up and the gages went bonkers. Since I had no other ride, I took one of their loners home and had to wait a couple days for them to diagnose and fix problem. Besides, you may be able to use this to your advantage in the future with the dealer if need be - hopefully not though.

I am not unhappy with the purhase yet. The truck seems to beat out everything else I looked and drove. (Ford, Chevy and Dodge)

You should get those things anyway. I got 2 pens, a coozie, and 2 tshirts. Coulda got more but I didn't care for the jacket. I wish they would have had black hooded sweatshirts or long sleeve t-shirts with Titan on them.

Hey, there's another idea for titantalk. tshirts and hoodies.

Not a fool at all!

Sometimes it's as simple as a gas cap that was left open, but it seems like it's more serious in your case. Hopefully it's simple, and I've seen very few failures here online compared to other new model cars that come out.

What I would have done is a due bill that states all work on CE light and A/C to be repaired to new standards quickly and efficiently.

If it's a major problem, you'll know in the first few months. Nothing to sneeze at, but nothing to loose sleep over (sans the few days without the titan!)

Good luck, and if you can scan or type your repair bill, that would be good for the rest of us to watch out for other problems

Nissan's are solid, so I'm sure you'll be OK-
But, I'd never have taken delivery of a new vehicle with the check engine light on...

But, that's just me...
