CC Bed - Plywood

Anybody carried 4x8 plywood in the short bed? If so, how did you do it?

I have the king cab so I have a little more bed space, but the truck I traded in was a toyota double cab. It had a small bed, I always carried a couple of ratchet straps. Carrying plywood I would leave the tailgate up and angle the wood down into the bed and strap it down good. I'd always pad the tailgate with an old towel or somthing.
Worked for me.

I agree with this method if you are hauling just a few sheets. The other day I was hauling a stack of 8' banquet tables in my CC Titan with the tailgate down and secured with ratcheting straps. The straps were real tight but the tables in the middle of the stack slipped right out and onto the street. Securing something by strapping around it only keeps it from moving from side to side, not front to back. I should have had the tailgate up like tnbowhunter suggested.

I wish they could have gotten another 12" out of that bed. Well, at least I can get a few sheets in there when need be.

Thanks.

I hook my 12 ft rachet straps to the safety chain holes on the hitch
then to the Utili-Trac tie downs in the front of the bed. Keeps
things from slidin' out the back.

I never thought about that. Thanks for the tip!

Hauling wood in the titan is no problem. My personal best is 36 sheets of OSB (plywood). That one had me a little worried.
