Lunch Carpools

carpooled with a few engineer co-workers to lunch a couple of days ago, and we took my truck. it wasn't really my choice, since my boss / co-worker / mentor guy (charlie) said "so mike, what do you drive?" and i pointed to my titan.

he got a big ****-eating grin and said "i figured it was your's, lets take it to lunch." i was much obliged, since i love driving my truck and i love showing it off.

charlie got in the back and kathryn took shotgun. he loved the free swinging doors, and was impressed with the interior and all the cool features. he found stowed under the seat the cleat for the rear bed system, and he seriously played with them the whole time until we got to the resturaunt. he goes "dude, this is the same type of tie-down system the use on the space shuttle. this is too cool." we work for NASA, hence the space shuttle comment.

he thought the bed and the tail gate lights and the rails were too cool, and was impressed with the side storage box.

the best part: HE SAID TO ME "SO, HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR THIS? $36000?" I SAID NO, "I GOT IT FOR $29000" seriously, he jaw dropped in amazement.

he owns a '99 f150 extended cab, and said his kids are getting too big to fit in the back. he said "too bad they dont make a super crew in the titan" and i said "oh, but they do."

i wouldn't be surprised if he got one. he was thourally impressed with my truck. makes me glad to own it.

So the moral of this story is that it takes a very smart rocket scientist to figure out that the Titan is the best truck out there.
That is cool you dudes work for NASA. Can you check on putting a Titan on the moon? he he

Always good to see another Aggie on the board. I've had my Titan 3 weeks, and I've already had 2 passengers decide they wanted one after riding in or driving my truck.

what year are you at A&M? i just graduated in may (class of '03) and started working here a week ago.

i still miss A&M though: the bars, the cheap alcohol, the dance halls, and THE FINE, YOUNG WOMEN!

can't wait till football season though.

Wow! Aggies and Longhorns can finally agree on something!

I let my wife drive home from Wally's last night after purchasing a DVD and I decided to get in the back seat and start the show and I was impressed with at least 3 things.

1. The room in the back seat!

2. The stereo sound in the headphones.

3. The exhaust note from back seat is really cool.

I'm sure there is something I'm not mentioning at this time but this truck is cool even when your a passenger.

I'm graduating in August. My ring says 03, but Mechanical Engineering to Construction Science resulted in close to 40 hours going down the toilet. Yes, I too will miss A&M. I get bummed out thinking about it, but then I realize how great it will be to NOT BE POOR. Good luck at NASA.
