Another fog light question (SE pre-wired)

I have an SE, pre-wired. Can the aftermarket fog lights be turned on independently or just when the head lights are on?

Also, $160-170 for a small pair of lights is kinda pricey. I'm wondering if the pre-wired plug is standard and similar sized lights could be purchased much cheaper. I guess the on/off switch might be the issue, since the Nissan lights have a swtich that easily mounts on the headlight control column.

If you are running greater than the ~37.5 watt bulbs in aftermarket fogs, you shouldn't go to the OEM connectors for power unless you are using a relay. You can always use the harnesses to trigger a relay that gets power elsewhere. By using the existing harnesses to trigger your relay, obviously the OEM stalk would control your aftermarket fogs.

Yes, they are overpriced, but we pay it because they fit so nicely in the hole. Also the bulbs are a standard size and you can purchase those cool xenon bulbs with the blue finish on them.

Dont fret about finding a light kit to snap into the OEM harnesses, its a cinch just to cut off the harnesses and wire up your own lights if they require identical power.

I have an extra Stalk for the OEM fog light kit that I didn't use when I installed mine. I wired them independently to a switch. I will sell to you if you want.
