NY increases weight limit for passenger plates

Effective 07/07/04, pickups with an unladen weight of 5500 lbs or less may be registered as a passenger vehicle instead of a commercial vehicle. The pickup must be used exclusively for non-commercial purposes and there may be no business advertising on the vehicle. FWIW

Does anyone know the unlaiden weight of the 4x4 CC w/big tow (no off-road)?

Apparently, the dealer is using curb weight as the criteria and telling me that all Titan's w/big tow and 4x4 are plated as commercial.

Under the new rules, the Titan is very close.

My KC 4x4 big tow,off road, and utility bed SE with a full tank of gas weighs 5350 lbs
so I would think you will make it with a CC barely.

I have regular commercial plates on mine that I transferred off my previous truck.
