That's the reason I brought the car in to the dealer because I didn't think the parking brake work well even when pressed all the way down (11 clicks as I rememeber). They told me it was normal and that was when I posted to ask for the opinions here and was advised to shift to Neutral first. I still don't know if my parking brake works properly or my driveway is too steep for such a heavy vehicle or may be both.
My parking brake will NOT hold the truck if I park in a > 15 degree incline.

Survey!! How many clicks does it take to hold your Titan on a level grade with the truck in Drive at idle? This should make it consistent instead of different slopes.
yeah mine I have to push it ALL the way in--to get it to sit what I consider firm. The tranny will hold it, but I am always scared of that one day a large earthquake hits cali, and my poor truck just start a-rollin
My parking brake holds even if I forget to release it and start pressing the gas pedal. I have done this once or twice then thought why arent I moving?--duh forgot to release the parking brake. Only for several seconds though.
Nothing against titan, but yes, 8 clicks is excessive, and not full braking. My truck is locked down once i touch the emergency, and my mazda was about half way it was locked down. Is 8 clicks past halfway?
My parking brake had to be pressed down completely as some others have mentioned. I felt that it was too loose and took it in to the dealer to have it adjusted - took about 15 minutes and now it holds the truck with just a few clicks on a hill.

I never ever set it unless i am loaded on a hill like this. All street driving i never ever set it.
Hey Budman, After this last weeks rain I bet your looking
for a "big" hill to park on. Feel sorry for you guys up Northeast
way. Hope you survived unscathed. For those who don't know,
Budman's area was hit with up to 8" of rain in one day. Real
mess up there.

Hmm....you're making me wanting to bring the car back to the dealer again or better yet, I'll do it myself.
I set the brake on hills and use only park on the flat.
The in dash parking indicator light is to dim abd hides out behind the rim of the steering wheel. Drove a short distance with the brake on, couldn't see the light in the daylight. Wish it was bright like the 4 wheel hi and lo lights that are always blinking are.[ Heat recirculating, mirror an AC lights need to be brighter too ]

The one time you NEVER use your parking brake is if you leave your truck anywhere for sevice. Because there isn't a brake release lever they tend ro fumble around under your dash until they find one and pull it. Up pops your hood and they promptly get out and go around and dent your hood!
