It's beyond belief. I received the "LIVE BIG" brochure at the Auto show last year and sure enough, the cover is that copper color(no offense to copper owners). You see ads of F150's, Silverados and Rams in Metallic Black or midnight blue color towering over lesser vehicles on the road and then there's the Titan in copper.............!?
Even my 12 year old said: "Dad, that's an ugly color. I hope you won't buy one like that!" Well, I did not.
I just want to know if Nissan still has not learned the lesson from the Infiniti disaster of 1990.
In 1989, Lexus came out storming with the "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" moniker. Their ads were so inspiring that I bought one(and loved it)....... so did thousands of other satisfied owners. On the other hand, Infiniti showed pictures of trees, leaves, and countryside(no car mind you)! It was called the "Nature" ad campaign. Well Infiniti sold only 1/10Th of their goal(and that was very lucky for them). The ad company was fired after the disaster of 1990, and sales picked up with a little better ads(still not to Lexus levels).
Message to Nissan:
1. It is a mistake to have a non-talking music driven commercial about a truck you're trying so hard to get the die hards to buy.......These people need to be told(loudly I might add so they have to turn it down) that this is a BETTER truck.
2. 30 second spots on prime time are expensive, I agree, but if you're not putting the money in QC then put it in ads where it at least tells the masses about the truck. Exec.s and Jr. exec.s can have raises later.
3. Fire the current ad company and avoid another disaster.
I know..... long winded....... but you hit a sore spot.
