Back seat SEAT BELTS???

My friend just got a black crew cab titan 2wd.(stole my idea) so now I will get a 4x4 and lifting it. Anyways, riding in the back sucks due to the seat belt locking up and wont let you move. I sat in the front and the seatbelt lets you move. Why are the 2 back seats like that?

My rear middle seat belt stuck and was replaced with a new one. Though my new one works fine, the tech told me they may have a new one with better design.

The belts lock because they are too short.

The belts are designed so they will lock if you first pull them out (almost) the whole way, then release them again. This was done so child seats could be held in place securely.
Unfortunately, when pulling out the belt for an adult sized person, you are pulling it out almost the whole way, which then activates the locking mechanism. This will slowly strangle you if you let it... In my opinion it's a safety hazard, but few owners seem to be bothered by it.

I have the same problem and it occurs whether there is an adult sitting in the back or one of my children (sitting in booster chairs). On long trips we have to stop many times in order to release the belt and buckle it back on. i am very much bothered by this. Of course I can already hear the dealer's response, " that's the way it's designed". I think I might write to Nissan about it.

I haven't had much problems with the outboard seats but the center seat requires you to push the belt back into the retraction mechanism in order to get it to release the belt again. Just letting the belt retract itself is not enough. I'm sure it needs to be adjusted.

My center belt is a real problem. Have not talked to the dealer but when I do will insist it get fixed. It works its way tight thus folks can't release it well or have to release it while driving to adjust it, thus is a safety hazard (IMHO).

By design all my cars have it, it called rachet locking seat belts or something. The problem is the Nissan Rear belts are not long enough, so when you get to the end it activates the locking untill you unbuckle and let it retract all the way back. Works great if you want to strap in a carseat sucks if you are passenger.

My center rear seat belt has been replaced three times, and all of them have the same problem.

I just had someone bring that to my attention today. I never sit back there, so it took a while for someone to point it out. Is Nissan doing anything about them?

Nissan just came out with a recall to replace the outboard rear belts on many of the trucks.Don't know exactly why, but I did five of them in CC models this week, and the top anchor is different in design. As of today,we were not able to get belts for the KC model.
