JL AUDIO box UPDATE

Hi Guys and Gals,
Not sure if this has been inform yet but I just got an email so I copied and pasted it here. It might cost and arm and a leg though for engineer time but at least someone is thinking of us.

"Actually will be offering a Stealthbox next month for the Titan Crew Cab.
This ported enclosure is going to house a single 10W3v2 and install under
the rear seat, driver's side.

It does take us at least one calendar year before we can offer a Stealthbox
for a new or newly styled vehicle. Since the Titan has only been on the
market for about that long, it is just now we can offer anything for it."

From what I got today it will be two of them here is the email if anyone cares......

Good morning Mike,
I'm glad for you to post this Stealthbox information on the Titantalk forum.
Steve Duffield was mistaken, the enclosure we have designed for the Titan
CrewCab has (2) 10W3V2 woofers in downfiring sealed enclosure. The Titan is
unique in that it has enough space on either side of the transmission tunnel
for (2) 10's. I don't know of any other truck we could have done that with.
This layout also leaves the floor area under the driver's side seat
available for amplifiers and processors. Good luck to you.
Sincerely,
Don Vertrees

Hi Don,

Thanks for the update, I am going to copy and paste this if that is okay
with you on the titantalk.com forum; these guys have been trying to hear
some of these good news especially from JL Audio. I thought at first its
one 10 under the driver side rear seat now its two 10's in the rear
passenger seat, could there be two different model or I just got wrong info
from Steve Duffield JL Audio, Technical Support Manager. Could you twll me
which is correct that way I can post the right info. I will sure be looking
forward to getting it in august the sooner the better. I hope its the two
10 that way I will get deaf sooner (LOL )

Im sure that will be nice- and it cool they finally made one as I emailed them way back in February and they said they weren't making one. I would have been more impressed if they had made it more stealth say under the front seat or behind the seat like their other models

and those stealth boxes are pretty expensive--folks may be better off buying the woofer and just building the box by themselves.

Those Stealth Boxes usually sound awesome, but man they're expensive.

I dont know the price yet but I bet 80% is the engineers time, 10% is the materials, and the other 10% is the sales guy and the labor to put it in.

Smoketitan your right might be cheaper to go get the sub and build the box. Oh well its going to be there for all of us who can't build one or dont have the tools. I myself dont have the time, and with kids its a mess trying to get one build in the truck. I just have to buy less diapers and wipes lol to save up for the box. my 2 pennies

This is going to be a bit of a catch-22, since you'll need them when you see the price!
