Tire Pressure

I am taking my truck in today to have the tires turned around so that the raised white letters are to the inside. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the pressure that is ideal for my situation. My driving is almost never offroad. I am usually only on highways and city streets. My truck is a 4x2 LE with the stock Goodyear 18's. Any help would be great.

I was running 36 (cold with a hand gage) with the OR package tires. When I rotated them, I noticed they were beginning to cup, so I raised pressure to 40. By "cup" I mean that the tread in the central portion of the tire appears to wear more than the inner and outer edge portions. I don't know if the higher pressure will help or not. You might want to keep an eye on your tires for the cupping issue. In some cases this can apparently be a function of the tires, and in other cases be caused by the shocks.

go by the door sticker. i was wondering what pressure to run, and everybody has a different opinion on that. so i asked a guy i know who runs a tire shop. he said the door sticker is what to run b/c they take into count the vehicle size/weight. it says 35 psi cold so thats what i run. with no problems. btw, cupping is the opposite, wear on the outside first, typically from too low of pressure. too high and you will wear out the center first. flame on................

Went from 47psi as delivered (could feel every tar strip and pebble) to recommended 35 psi. That felt a little mushy to me on some moderate cornering that I do every day, so went to 38psi all around and it feels just right. No noticeable wear on either center or shoulders of tread. This is all very subjective, so just give it a try.

I run them on the high side, 37- 40psi. Drop them down when off road. Oh and cupping is the uneven ware of the side of the tire. Mostly seen on the inside of the tire, normally caused by tire skip when in a turn. Not sliding from the front pushing but the inside tire in a turn bouncing a little. If you run your hand over it, it feels like waves. My F150 and Ranger, both 4x4, had it bad. One other reason I have the titan and hope it doesn’t get it bad. In my ranger I had to stiffen up the front to keep it down. If your tire has worn evenly only on the inside or the out side then you might want to get your alignment checked.
