Now I am still interested in a deisel because 1) Deisels are more fuel efficent. 2) Bio deisel is the wave of the future IMHO veggie oil baby. 3) A deisel will take ALOT more abuse than a gas engine will and still ask for more. 4) I think alot more advancement can be made with a TD than a gasser engine 5)deisel costs 1/2 as much to make than gas they get 2:1 deisel to gas and in reallity it should be 1/2 the price as well but they choose to up its price to offsett the price of gasaline which mostly everyone is using. I am very interested to find out how this bio-deisel turns out.
1.) Yes they are expensive, but they are much cheaper to maintain, are extremely durable, and last much much longer then any petrol motor

2.) That is what they used to be. They can still be extremely loud with very little work, but the new diesels that are coming out are very quiet to what they used to be. Plus personally, I love the sound of diesels

Around here in Tennessee, depending on how crude is floating up and down, diesel can be cheaper. But even with it is more expensive, it is still cheaper to fill up. Diesel usually always get more miles per gallon then what they are rated. For Petrol, they always get lower then what the city is stated at (at least for trucks)

Diesel can have a hard time in winter, and winter diesel comes around to help combat that. You can also mix diesel with almost any other kind of fuel to help out. Or for $20 you can get a fuel heater that attaches to your fuel line to heat the fuel.

But anything could use a diesel. Smaller cars would benifet from extremely small 50+ mpg engines. Trucks like a 1500 could use a smaller displacement V6 that has way more torque then any petrol motor that they would put in there and give much better fuel economy.

I would love to see a Tacoma get a diesel. Top Gear took a 3L Diesel Tacoma up to the North Pole. First people to ever drive up there.

The rest of the world in primarly diesel, and diesel even fuels war. Just that we are way way behind in everything efficent compared to the rest of the world.

Re: Nissan Diesel

at only .4 liters bigger i'd like to see Nissan get into bed with Audi and outfit the Titan with Audi's impressive TDI-common rail motor. TDI uses an unprecedented twin-turbodiesel 6.0-liter V-12. The resulting 493 horsepower and 738 pounds-feet of torque. not too shabby considering it gets 20mpg. what say you Nissan? oh, and make sure to get a stout axle this time.
