Opening windows with remote

I'm sure everyone knows about putting the key in the door and turning it to automatically roll down (or up) the side windows. I was thinking how nice it would be if you could roll down the windows using the remote, so I tried it, and you actually can use the remote to do this. When the alarm is on, just hold down the unlock button for a few seconds and both windows will automatically roll down. I couldn't find this written in the owner's manual and didn't see a previous thread about it here. I couldn't get the remote to roll them up though.

This has been discussed many times in the past and you are correct that they only work one way - DOWN.

Titan owners need to be aware of this even if they don't use this feature because several people have had their windows rolled down inadvertently before a rainstorm while their keys were in their pocket.

Yup. I've done it twice now.

New wrinkle on the door locks. I took the truck for installing my clear guard a few weeks back. I parked in their doorway and did the usuall talking about new Titan. I had left the keys in it and hit the other keyfob in my pocket to make sure I had it unlocked. Got in my wifes car and went home and got a call that the truck was locked.

I forgot that if you don't open the door within one minute of unlocking with remote it locks back up as a safety feature.

BTW read your window sticker. It says remote windows down on it.

I have been able to roll my windows (front) up with the keyfob. Instead of holding the unlock button down for a few seconds, try holding the lock button down. I am not sure if this feature only works if you put them down with the keyfob first, and or if there is a time constraint on how quickly you can do this based on when the keyfob has been used to roll them down?

That is interesting since it goes against everything in the manuals and in the computer controls as well. I would have to see this actually work to believe it.

EDIT: I just went out and tried it. No go!! I was able to put the windows down as advertised, but no way would they go up with the key fob. I have the LE version and if any model would have this feature, the LE would.

He was just trying to see if he could get anybody out to the garage to try. Just wait a couple of weeks and post something like "If I hold both the lock and unlock buttons down for 3 seconds, release for 1 second, and then depress for 5 seconds, it automatically orders a pizza" and you will have people going to the garage to try.

Its actually the unlock and the panic button that orders the pizza. Everyone knows that holding both the unlock and lock button down simultaneously cause the reception in the radio to clear up!

Your correct the windows will only go down. I swear I made them go up with the key fob before but no such luck!. Maybe on the 05's??

Just curious, I noticed you are from Aurora IL, Ever run into Wayne or Garth?

The keys were in the ignition when it happened. But you can only do this to yourself if you have both sets of keyfobs with you so you can't actually lock yourself out. You can only cause a problem in a similar scenario where you leave the truck with someone else and leave with the other set of keys. In the future I will just hand them the keys and not leave them in the truck.
