K&N Air Intake System

Hey Titan Gurus...

I'm in California and the K&N 77 series intake system is not CARB (California Air Resorces Board) approved. Does anyone know if my Titan is run for two years with the K&N system, and then is replaced with the factory air box for a smog inspection, will I experience any problems?

I've also heard that Airaid in soon to come to market with a CARB approved system. Anybody know?

I think you won't have smog due for 4 years or maybe even 6 if you live in certain zipcodes

I wouldn't worry too much about the "CARB approved" thing. I had a K&N Aircharger on my Fronti and it wasn't CARB approved either. In certain TN counties you need an annual exhaust test and I was in one of them. It worried me with the Aircharger, but I never had a problem with it and they never asked about it. Regardless, K&N later CARB approved the Aircharger for the Frontier and handed out stickers to prove it. Who knows, the 77 series might get the same stickers some time down the line.
