problems last night...

I came home last night and when I pulled onto my street I hear something pop like a spring coming loose from around my gearshift. I ask the wife and she doesn't know what it was. So we drive to the mailbox and the Titan won't shift from D to P. I play with it for a few minutes and nothing. I ended up just turning the truck off in 2nd gear (that's where it ended up after playing with it) and leaving it on the street. By now I'm pissed that my tranny has gone out, I have to leave it on the street, and I'll have to screw around with it in the morning. So this morning I call the tow truck and get the truck to the dealer. The dealer was way cool and got me a Caddy Deville (I felt like a pimp in that thing!). The dealer calls me by noon and tells me it's fixed. It was only a spring clip that held the gearshift into the tranny and not the tranny itself. I was relieved. Anyways, took the PimpCaddy back and got the Titan. So my baby is now back in the garage safe and sound. Just wanted to relay a good experience after a bad one that could have been worse. Btw, the dealer had no idea about the seatbelt recall even after I printed the recall from this site for him.
