New tires on my Titan

Just installed a set of 285-60-18VR Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires on my KC/SE yesterday. Ride is super, with lots of traction, and great design. By the way fellow Titanites, this size will just fit on Titan wheels with no problem, other than the speedometer will show 2.2 mph slower than actual speed (live with it and get on with your life). Now that I have these great V rated tires on my Titan, does anybody know how to disengage or remove the govenor on the engine so I can run it at our local track.

2.2mph slower at what speed? The magnitude of the speedometer error increases as tire speed increases so it cant be off by a constant 2.2 mph regardless of your speed.

Speedometer should show faster,I think??

I think the speedometer will show you are going faster than actual speed. This tire has a(calculated) 171 mm sidewall, the 265/70 18 has a 185 mm sidewall. The 285/60 speedometer will measure turns per minute, and you will travel a shorter distance with each wheel-or driveshaft- turn.I could have this backwards.Charlie

I'd rather upgrade my BFG's to the Mud Terrain

although the All Terrains would be nice too, and probably last longer. I guess I gotta wait till my tires run out...

drove a set of p-zeros for 2 years. outstanding handling and dry or wet traction. one word of warning - watch out on snow. they don't work well at all. juma
