Factory running boards chipping?

I posted this is Problems/Service but I didnt get the response I was looking for. This is something that I think anyone with factory running boards should check out.

I found the paint chipping off my running boards. If you look at the top of them (not the bottom where youd expect it) and see little white "flakes" feel them. They're most likely chips.

Mine is concetrated on the passenger side board on the top near the rear. The drivers side only has a couple chips, but I'm sure is getting worse.

Mine only has 4000 miles, and I know there are older ones out there, so next time you're out there, take a look to see if this is happening on your running boards as well.

Yep, I have the same problem..... 7,500 mi. and have a couple of good sized "chips". Seem like they want to keep peeling in the place where the chip is.

Stopped by the dealer today. He agreed it was an odd place to chip. he did a "tape test" to see if more would come off... a little did, but not much.

He said to keep an eye on it, and if it gets worse to come back. He said he would see if Nissan has had any complaints or updates because he didn't want to order new ones that had the same problem.

I can live with that. Either way I most likely will end up with new running boards.. but he wanted to see if it got worse.
