CD Storage Compartment

With the lack of a storage compartment for compact discs, has anyone come up with a way to store them in a rattle free manner? Jewel boxes included of course. I have the console shifter with the storage compartment between the captains chairs. I have not found any good place or way to store them as of yet. Lets here what everyone has to say.

In the two overhead compartments. Won't hold many but maybe enough for the six cd's in the changer.

I just use those ones that velcro to the visor. Made by Case Logic.

I store mine in the pockets at the bottom of the door. Can fit six or so standing on edge. To stop the rattles I went to the meijer (super market) and purchased a small roll of shelf liner that is made from a rubber material. The material is not solid but has diamond cutouts in it and is black. I cut pieces to fit into the bottom of all of the doors and no more rattles. Hope that helps!!

I have an auto trash bag that I placed inside my storage compartment, I use it to hold candy, cigars, and other stuff. The bag prevents any of these things from rattling around inside the compartment. The space left in front of it is perfect for my CDs, I line them up in front of the bag and they can't slide back. A few extra napkins from Mickey D's helps to pad any extra space!
I'd be careful about placing CDs in the overhead compartments, they can heat up if the truck sits in hot sun for long periods of time.

I think the space in the center console compartment could have been designed better, maybe a divider of some sort to hold CDs, a coin tray would be nice, and...oh, never mind

just throw the plastic cases out and use a nice 100cd case for future cds as well, if you want, you can always use the velcro cd holder on your visor or just buy an MP3 player and rip them all onto your new gadget. don't use those cd cases, it will melt and stain and damage your leather or cloth chairs... I've seen a lot of cases melt... don't chance it.

Thanks for all of the innovative ideas guys. Except this one! Ouch...I cannot even fathom the idea of ridding myself of the jewel cases. I'm am extremely particular about my music, therefore the idea of chucking the jewel boxes is out.

case logic makes a "unit" that straps onto the back of the passenger's seat. it is not only for CDs but for other stuff as well but i mostly use it for CDs. i have the bench and the back of the center seat has a "console" if you want to call it that. it will only hold CDs if you lay them over at an angle and that tends to make them flop about if you have to lift the seat back for any reason.

actually i found this when i was at the dealer. did not buy it there though, went to wally world and they had a similar if not better one...

I have a CD box that holds over 350 CDs that fits nicely under the back seat. Each page in the box holds 4 CDs.

I have a couple of these from DiscGear and they are really nice. Have one for work and one for the truck. Got mine at a kiosk at the mall.
