Power Window Issues

Went to dealer today and talked to service manager about power window being sloppy when rolling down. He said all the Titans are that way there for its working as it was desigined to. He also said every Nissan produced since 1990 dooes the same thing. After looking at several Altma's, Maxima's and Armana's none of them done this. Although a couple Titans did. Still he insisted this normal operation for any power window. Said he did'nt see the window chattering when rolling down. Even pointed at it and said see, see, do you see that. NOPE!! I DONT SEE THAT. Told him if Nissan didnt have a fix for it yet that was fine but stop blowing smoke up my a----ss!!!! Went to the general manager he said that was one of the first things his salesmen said about the Titan's. (THE WINDOWS ARE SLOPPY!!!!!!!!). He called service and ask what their problem was and informed them to cantact Nissan about the issue and stop giving me the run-around. DAM!!!!!! Thats all I asked for to begin with!! Is it me or are most all service managers A-HOLES? Anyway they ordered a new radio for my XE. Guess he didnt want me pounding on his counter again. I would like to know if anyone has had window regulators replaced and why. Need some amo here so help me out. Oh yeah. Why do they call the SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! Some SERVICE would be nice!!!Thanks Scott.

Please let us know if the new radio solves the RM fade problem.
They have reportedly perfected a fix.

I feel your pain.

1st time I took my truck in for RF problem I explicitly told the service guy TWICE that the SSV had absolutely nothing to do with it. They had my truck for about 7 hours then called and said it was ready.

Picked it up and the same service twit actually sat there and told me that there was this new-fangled setting on the radio called the SSV setting and that turning it off solved the problem. I could've strangled him. Of course, I didn't get 50 ft. away from the garage before the radio faded again.

I wonder if Nissan indorses this kind of behavior? I'm sure they dont want dealers warranting just anything but a lot of this crap is uncalled for. Seems like some of them say NO just because they can. All I know to do is stand back and look the situation over and make sure I'm in the right (Try to take the diplomactic approach first) then stand my ground. It worked this time. What alse can the working man do. Most of us are making payments on our trucks and you have to protect your investments. Hope no one else has to deal with RON!!! at Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland Fl. Not to mention any names!HA!

All of the dealerships that I know, their mechanics work on a commission basis. If they do not finish the job by the book time, they lose money. With warranty work, Nissan reinburses the dealership for 70% of that commission and only if the dealership can prove to Nissan, it was defective. There is no incentive a dealership to perform preventive warranty repair (i.e. replace defective brake pads before they are worn out, window motor assembly must be chattering before regulator is replaced). That's why service managers try to push away premature warranty work until the part is damaged.

Radio Update

Well I just got back from the dealer. Had the new radio intsalled and it works fine. They also lubed my front windows which work much better. They still have a little bit of a jump when you let them down but I can live with it for now.

Where are you in Florida? We have a pretty good sized group in Central FL.
I live in Orlando and I see quite a few messages from the locals on this board.
There is a planned meeting sometime later this month.
