I took the plunge

I just picked up my new Smoke SE Crew Cab Titan yesterday! She's in for window tinting today and I can't wait to get her back.

I know there are a ton of post like this, but I wanted to add my thanks to the board members here. The info I found helped me make my final decision and negotiate a good deal ($1000 below invoice!).

Thanks again and I'm sure I'll keep reading!

Not to sound condescending, but how is window tinting a "mod". Where I live, it's a necessity.

It didn't come that way, therefore...its a mod.

Mine came with tint. Infact most of the dealers around here throw it on cause 99% of people are gonna go get it anyway. It's not a mod in my book...like Netranger said, its a necessity.

I thought the crew cabs came standard with tinted rear glass and windows? Or, am I confusing "privacy windows" with tint? Same thing? No?

Is the dealership replacing the glass or just putting the solar film on?

Congrats, I'm jealous because I dont have one yet. Where did you get such a good deal, and how are you sure it was $1G below? Edmunds online?

TitanBrian - The back crew cab rear windows do come tinted. I got the front windows done to help me with this Texas sun.

lcbrownz - They put on tint to the existing glass and it came with a lifetime warranty.

minisx - I purchased through Gunn Nissan in San Antonio. They offer no haggle pricing and it usually compares pretty good to what you can talk other dealerships down to. In my case, they actually beat it. Gunn had to trade with a dealership in Austin so I could get the one I wanted, but the price they offered me was $1000 below invoice according to the paperwork he showed me as well as the info on Edmunds. When I was shopping around I found several dealerships in San Antonio that were offering to sell the Titans at invoice + the $1000 rebate, so it basically came down to who could find the truck I wanted the fastest.
