At 2000 miles my fuel economy (I'm not sure economy is the correct word) on my 2004 big tow KC is still the pits. Being that most of my driving is a 4 mile surface street commute at best I'm getting 8.5 MPG. Just as a test I did a 100 mile drive at night, all highway on criuse control 65 mph no traffic no stopping flat ground truck empty except me and a full tank. On fill up just off the offramp MPG was 10.5. What I'm wishing for from Nissan is to put a switch next to the tow mode and VDC that says economy mode that tunes the engine to minimal power to get me some where near the epa fuel estimate on the window sticker.
Wow! Those are the lowest numbers I have seen. Something doesnt sound right. I have a crewcab 4x4 and I consistently get 14+ in the city (stop and go traffic under 45mph).

Yeah, something is wacky - I get anywhere from 12-15 in the city (if there are no Hemi guys trying to mess with me ) and usually close to 19 on the highway. I would bring her in, something sounds off.

I did the same thing on a straight, flat, open stretch of road here in Kansas... 65mph, no stopping, cruise control set... And this is what I got for most of the drive... (see attached photo) Once you factor in the starting, stopping and regular driving, I usually see the 18mpg as advertised...
I have a KC LE, Big Tow, Off Road, 4x4 with almost 13,000 miles on it since March 15th... Didn't baby it during break-in, and even had the oil changed at 1,000 miles after only owning it for 10 days... I do a lot of moderate towing (5,000 # trailer - 2 to 3 times per week)...
I really noticed a change in MPG around 10,000 miles, so there is hope that things will get better... Even at 75mph I still see 16mpg cruising around the KC Metro area...
I can see 8.5 on such a short jaunt especially if its stop and go, but on the highway you should do much better. Sounds like something's wrong with your Titan specifically. Has a dealer looked at it yet?
I'm getting 14.97 avg mixed, 17.96 hwy, 4x4 KC non-tow, 1600 total miles, calibrated odometer and filled to the same spot everytime. Coworker here is getting 12.5 mixed, 15 hwy, 4x4 crew tow, but he drives it like its stolen.
BTW epa test method does not relate to real world driving, can't expect those numbers but I am surprised mine are so close to 14/19.

ahh, another missouri TITAN. about time i got some SHOW-ME love on these forums. now i know we need a missouri meet. maybe somewhere halfway for our stl brethren, like columbia. welcome.
Got 1,500 miles on my Titan, and getting around 15 mpg in the city, and around 18 mpg hwy. But I have noticed that it really likes to go around the 85 mph range it seems to get 18+
