Question Hmmm, this is interesting

Already bought a Titan. But previously thinking about the Armada too, so I went to edmunds.com and compare the two. SE, 2WD
Overall, pretty close matchs, only thing that puzzle me is both of them are using the same engine, right?
But on Armada, the torque is 385 ft-lbs. And on the Titan it's 379 ft-lbs.
And Armada, max towing is 9100 lbs Vs Titan 9400 lbs !!!!!
Would have thought more torque mean more towing?!!
And why diff in torque in the same engine?
Both got the same 305 HP.

I would guess the Armada is heavier- thus the lower tow rating. No idea about the torque question though.

The armada has slightly higher compression or timing advance (can't remember exactly which it is)...

The lower tow rating may be due to the independent rear suspension on the Armada instead of a straight axle.

I bet you're right JMC.

On the "clunk" thread I was thinking "hmm..I have no rear-wheel hopping going on on the freeway." I had forgotten about the different rear suspension on the Armada.

It sure does help towing! My 6x12 tandem axle cargo (#5000) feels likes it's barely there.
