Exclamation Tire Problem

I got 12k miles so far and I have serious (really serious) wear on the rear tires. The rear tires have been over-inflated by the dealer when I had them serviced for brakes and I guess they had it rotated so they wear down evenly. After noticing the middle tread gone from the over inflation, is there anything I can do with the dealer to get this corrected? Or is there anything I can do with the manufactuer to get these tires under their warranty? Its only 12k miles and I've always assumed they would last a good 30-80K miles depending on brand and quality. I just hope these tires aren't cheap and poor in quality and workmanship.

Watch me get in a crash just driving this 1/2 ton beast.

BTW. the front two tires after my inspection have uneven wear in the inside treads from all the turning and extra manuevers.

Goodbye :misslelau:$500

Plus buying replacements for the tires aren't easy. I went to several tire shops and they said they didn't have the tires in stock or carry the size for the truck. Since its a new model, they said they would have to order them from the factory. POS!!!!

Phillip, Take a look at TireRack.com. They have the OE GYs for $105 + shipping. Of course you'd have to have someone (your Titan dealer?) mount/balance/dispose of old tires. They have a warehouse out west (others scattered about the country, too) so shipping is very fast. They also have some interesting looking Continentals (I think they were $109) in 265 70 18. Tire Rack is value and customer service at it's finest, based on personal experience over many years. Good Hunting.

Tell me about it! I work for a tire company....NOT Goodyear, and we won't be making the replacement tires for the Titan until 2006! I can't wait to get these soft Goodyears off my baby!

Phillip, can you go just under the recommended tire pressure and then start wearing on the outsides of the tread to even them out before you replace them? Or is that not safe...
I think you should pay a visit to who ever is responsible for the over inflation that caused the premature wear. Although they will probably tell you that you are somewhat responsible. As a vehicle owner you should always know where all your fluid levels are at, and be checking the tire pressure regularly. That is what they will say anyways...
