You can also just get the Big Tow package and get the lower final drive ratio. Not to mention the fact that you'll get the hitch receiver, all wiring for brakes, and a transmission temp gauge. Better for resale as well.
I, for one, think the Off-Road trucks ride too harsh. Harsher ride = more annoying rattles and sooner. Just my opinion.
I will completely agree, however, with buying new versus used right now. Rebates and current new finance rates make it a no-brainer. I bought my truck used in December but I was laid-off at the time and any purchase was a scary one. Now I'm back to work and almost wishing I would have bought new. Then again, I got a great deal on my '05 and it only had 19,5xx miles on it. Good luck in your search.
