I would trade for a turbo diesel in a heartbeat.
Would have bought a Powerstroke instead of the Titan except that it came wrapped in a Ford, and I had some bad luck with my last two Fords. The new 6.0L Powerstroke is very impressive in stock form, and with relatively simple mods it is a Titan Killer.Ditto for the Duramax and Cummins.
I've never owned a Diesel anything. I'll probably go test drive one. Don't they get betting gas mileage?
My father has a new Ford 6.0L he is getting in the mid 20 mpg's while driving empty. My Titan's best was 17.6L empty.
Although in fairness I drive faster on average.

Yep. Thermodyamically, they are more efficient (45% or so, vs. 25-30% for a standard Otto cycle engine). Which means better gas milage vs. a gasoline engine with the same hp and torque.
I usually trade every three years anyway, soooo I would seriously consider buying the diesel. I would be eating my words though B/C I have stated I would never own one. But that was before Nissan entered the market.
