Chevy SS

This may already be posted here but I can't seem to find it. How does the Titan compare with the SS as far as acceleration? I'm talking about the newer version of the SS with the 6.0, not the older model with the 454.

The SS will be very competitive with the Titan. On paper it will probably beat a Titan particularly a 4X4. The SS is AWD. It is 345 hp and 380 TQ. It probably is not as heavy as a 4X4 Titan. A 4X2 Titan should give it a good race. In most comparisons it is comperable to a 4X2 regular cab short bed hemi.

I think it would beat both the hemi and the titan. The 0-60 time on the SS is 6.3 and 14.2 in the 1/4 mile. Dont know about you, but I have not seen that good of a time with the titan, and 80% sure a stock hemi can not do it either. If I am wrong, someone correct me but the titan will not do it that fast stock.

Two words: hole shot! There is a great advantage with all wheel drive. I drove one a while back and man, it would get up off the line in a hurry. handles great too.

The ss is quick but not 14.2 quick. It runs about 15.0 flat. Ive seen one do a 13.9 but that was with nitrous.

14.8 at 90 mph, according to C/D. I would like to drive one though. Should be good in the snow with that all wheel drive.

15.3-15.0 seems to be pretty common for the stock SS. A couple of guys have reported some high 14's but I am not sure how much I belive it. Personally, I did a 15.3 with only 950 miles on the truck. Now-a-days it is a bit quicker at 13.9, but it is not stock anymore

I am not sure how much the AWD helps at the track. The surface at the track tends to be sticky enough that 2wd can keep hooked up (at least until you start with the heavy mods). On the street though, the AWD is handy. Unless I hit a slippery spot, it keeps a good grip, and leaves the Hemis in the dust.

The SS is about 5-8k more than your average Titan.

stock vs. stock the SS will take you. that AWD really helps them out off the line. with discounts and what not from chevy you can get an SS for 32K before tax and license. thats not too bad, just sucks it wont be able to keep up with a lightning, srt-10, or even a harley f-150. they look very nice though.

Guy down the street has one. Nice truck. He always checks out the Titan though. On my circle (big looped street) we have 3 Titans, 1 SS, 4 F150's, 2 Rams, 1 Tundra, assorted other trucks etc....
