Found a new trick

If you have the factory installed alarm system, you can turn off the horn noise when locking the truck.

Just press the lock and unlock button together for about 5 seconds and an emergency light will flash 3 times.

Is that a trick? Isn't that in the owner's manual?

Yes it does. This is written in the manual as well as was stated above. Just go to the section that discusses the function(s) of the keyfob.

Also, if you want to set the alarm w/o sounding the horn, you can hit the power lock button. The system will arm 30 seconds after the last door is closed.

If you press the cruise control button, a green light comes on. Also, I noticed if you put the shifter in "R", the truck will go backwards.

This isn't a trick specific to the Titan though. It's a Nissan 'easter egg' as my mom's 2002 Altima does it as well.

Rickp, can't get mine to do that. Can you explain the "R" thing again? What is "cruise control"? Any MORE great NEW TRICKS???

Thanks, will be waiting anxiously for your response. (would love to be able to go backwards)...

I've avoided expensive shop repairs by changing the oil every 3,000 miles...

My point is is these are not necessarily "tricks" are they? These are all described in the owners manual. Whenver I buy a new vehicle, I throughly read the owners manual. You'd be amazed at what you'll find.

since this thread is all over the place, and someone mentioned cruise control light, does everyone have the cruise word in two places on the instrument cluster? in the sunlight, i can see all of the cutouts for the lights in the dash, and mine has two cruises above the "set" light. is this just an unresolved redundancy? just curious. critter
