Diesel TITAN!!!!!!!!!

Someone in Jackson, Tn. accidentally filled up with diesel fuel and it already costs them $2k the first bill, 2nd bill was $6,000 and another $6k bill is waiting and Nissan is NOT responsible for the damages as it was the fellow's daughter who made the costly mistake of putting in diesel instead of premium unleaded she thought.
It already got into the engine and converters and is still not running yet.
Will probaby be more than $18,000 dollars in the end the service mgr at Carlock Nissan in Jackson said.
By the way, a new replacement engine has already had to be ordered!!!!
Feel sorry for them it was a bad mistake!!!!!

How does Diesel "break" a motor?

I'm unclear on how Diesel breaks a motor.I can see how it wouldn't run, diesel just not volatile enough.I can also see how it poisons the converter-I think it still has lead in it,or if not lead,it would burn itself out from the high concentration of unburned hydrocarbons. How does it actually "break" a motor?Does it detonate in some fashion?Something has to cause very high pressure or temps in the CC to break something;what is it?Thanks,Charlie

I coulda sworn that the pumps for diesel were different sizes or something, so you couldn't accidentially mix em.

Give 'em a good shove and they'll go in. I have a friend who did that to a Honda Accord- somehow he put diesel in it. He said the pump was hard to get in the tank....you think?

Luckily he works for Honda R&D (if you can believe it) so the car was taken care of.

I wasn't paying attention late at night once and was trying to figure out why the nozzle wouldn't fit into my gas filler in my car for about 5 min. Then i looked at the pump again and noticed it said diesel.
