Got back from a dealership visit this weekend and they say the a/c not cooling in park/idle is normal. I told them they were going to have a lot of south alabama owner ticked with the kind of heat down here. They were real concerned....NOT! Also they say my 12.5 mph on the highway was within specs. Now how did I know they would say that. Managed to get 13.2 all highway Saturday. NOT acceptable to me. Couldn't find my dash rattles, said shakey mirrors were normal, alienment machine down so they couldn't check after installing daystar 6 weeks ago, 3 bad tires from factory they replaced but couldn't balance because "the balancing guy" was off Saturday. Noticed severe truck shaking on the way home, checked psi in tires, 2 @ 46, 1 @ 38 and 1 @ 34. They had the truck from 10am to 5pm and basically did nothing. Now I've got to go back again to fix what they were supposed to do Saturday in the appt. I set up to do. Dealership is 1 hour from me. Very inconvenient.
I was in a super good mood after spending all day waiting for an unfixed truck!
Parts guy seems to know more than service. Maybe its time to change dealerships.
Skeeter, where in Lower Alabama are you located? If you are close to Enterprise, I'd recommend Mitchell Nissan, their service department has been good to me.
They didn't do nothing-screwed with tire pressures!
Skeeter, how can you say they did nothing;they did some fancy computer modeling to decide they could negate the vibration by varying the tire pressures.Hope you don't mind a little humor;I would be so F _ _ _ing pissed I would be able to see straight.
You are certainly right about the fuel mpg.We did a survey of "best fillups-pure hy" a while back. The average for 4X4's with 3.36 rear ends was 16.1 mpg.One or two got 18 mpg.The other drivetrains got
4x2 2.94 19 mpg
4x2 3.36 ~18 mpg
4x4 2.94 ~17+ mpg
4X4 3.36 16+ MPG
You should do better than 13.2 hy if you are doing less than 80 mph.
Find a new dealer.Luck,Charlie
Sammy, I'm about 3 hrs for enterprise....way down south alabama (close to mobile). Kmonto, great idea about the donuts! Phoebisis, I'm looking for those mpg's. I was running 76mph with criuse on. I drive very conservative. Mpg's don't change much from town to hwy. I only have 2,200 miles on truck so I'm hoping it will do better after I hit 3,000. I have the 4x4 LE,CC,BT,OR 3.36 as stated above. And it may be time to change dealerships.
Feedback on this site is great. I think it's great to discuss issues about our trucks and give each other that little boost when we're discouraged. You guys are good at doing that.
Thanks,
Billy
sKEETER,as California Titan answered the MPG improves as the miles pile up.Some folks get decent hy mpg when they drive off the lot,but a fair number of folks report a slow, fairly steady increase in mpg for 1000's of miles-5000-6000 miles.I really don't know why they vary like that.Luck,Charlie PS True city mpg ranges 11-13.5 or so for everyone, depending on how "city" their driving is.I get ~12-13 mpg city with a 2WD KC 2.94.Pretty typical of full sized pickup mpg(except the Hemi's which get 10 mpg city)
I am just basing this on my last 2 4x4's. '01 & '03 GMC's. 13-14 city & 16 - 17 hwy. They had 3.73 gears though.
Thanks for the info. I'll keep reading and keep updating mine. You'll know when I hit the 16's....you'll hear a roar from Alabama other than pulling for the Crimson Tide!

I was getting mileage like that. Most of my driving is less than 4 miles to work and back and I was getting 8 MPG in town and just to find out I did a 100 mile trip and got 10.5. So I took this trip and drove 300 miles all on cruise cont with A/C on non stop with the same for the return trip. Well that must have gave the computer some time to adjust cause now my city MPG is 13.5 and my HWY is 18.5.
Skeeter I am in the same boat mpg wise. My 2wd Titan is getting 12 mpg and my Hummer H2 gets 11 mpg and it weighs over 6000 lbs and is full time 4wd. I don't get. Also gas just jumped up 9 cents a gallon here today. Anyone want to buy an H2?
Eyes,
I can't believe it jumped up 9 cents. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Somebodies getting very wealthy. Unfortunately, it's off of us new Titan owners!

Lucky, your dealership is replacing your tires, mine told me to take my tire problem to Goodyear. I about to get my second replacement tire.
